One of the best parts of being part of National Team is the friendships that last long after the World Championships are over.
Last year, members of Rowbust proudly earned the opportunity to wear the maple leaf alongside paddlers from teams across the country as part of Team Canada. Today at the Hamilton festival, several of our teammates had the chance to reunite with their Knot A Breast teammates from that incredible journey, and it was a special reminder of what makes our sport so unique.
On race day, we may compete against one another in club colours. But when Canada calls, those rivalries disappear. We become one crew, one team, united by a shared goal and a shared pride in representing our country.
Moments like today remind us that the friendships built while wearing 🇨🇦 last a lifetime. Once teammates, always teammates. ❤️🍁

What a day for Rowbust in Hamilton!
Our BCS crew raced their way into the BCP A Division and put together a dominant performance to bring home the gold medal! 🥇
Our Women’s crew also had an outstanding day, earning a spot in the Women’s A Division and racing hard against some tough competition. While they didn’t reach the podium this time, they got stronger with every race and put together a fantastic day on the water.
Congratulations to both crews! Your teamwork, determination, and continuous improvement made us incredibly proud. 💕🎉💥

🌈🐉 🍁What an incredible achievement!🎉 🇨🇦
A huge congratulations to our very own Linda “Wharty” Wharton and the amazing Maple Dragons team on bringing home two bronze medals from the 2026 Gay Games in Valencia, Spain!
What began as Linda’s vision to create an inclusive dragon boat team has grown into something truly inspiring. As the team’s founder, coach, and captain, she has built a community where everyone belongs, proving that dragon boating is about so much more than racing—it’s about friendship, acceptance, courage, and the power of working together.
To stand on the podium at an international event is an incredible accomplishment, but to do it while proudly celebrating diversity, inclusion, and the spirit of our sport makes it even more meaningful. We couldn’t be prouder of Wharty and every member of the Maple Dragons for representing London, Ontario, and Canada with such passion and heart.
From your Rowbust family—congratulations! We are cheering you on from home and celebrating every stroke that brought you to those podium finishes. 💕🥉🥉
We are so proud of you Maple Dragons! 🍁
