Interesting challenges came across my bench. Some old tube radios a friend would like converted to tube amps. I've always wanted to work on an old 1920's radio. They would make a great amp head.

1971 Super Reverb Rebuild Update.
New filter caps stuffed into the original cardboard capacitor tubes. New dog house cover. New bias components. Reconfigured circuit to AB763. Picked up a SFSR 4X10 amp cabinet. Medium to rough shape, but it cleaned up pretty good. The speaker grill is cracked and broken, due to particle board construction. I'm attempting to re-glue and reinforce the existing one.

After the Prince JB Marshall amp, I wasn't sure what to do next. I've built a lot of the circuits that I wanted to try and was about to do a re-run, when, ta da...a 1971 Super Reverb chassis appeared. Thank you Michael.

I've built another fender Princeton 6G2. This one was a "lets build it and see what happens" project. Well, it happens that a Marshall combo amp cab came along. It also happens that a JBL D130F 15" speaker came along. After some MacGyvering to get everything to fit, this amp turned out amazing. Such a great circuit with such a great speaker.

Happy days! Ive completed my Marshall JCM800 50 watt monster. Early 60's rock and roll tone. Classic. Ran into a little trouble. Took it to Vintage Tonewheels Restoration. Turns out, the schematic I was using was old and had revisions. All happy now. Ahhhhh, happy sigh. This was a fun build.

I've decided that building a Marshall 50watt 2204 '70s circuit out of the old Traynor amp will work fine. I'm getting close. I took that Traynor chassis/iron and am really close to completion. Cheers

Good day. Remember that Princeton 6G2 I was working on? It's all done, pertty, and sounds amazing.

Another side project...I got an old Traynor YBA3 amp that was beyond repair. It's a nice big chassis to work with. I'm thinking about turning it into a SUNN Sonic I40 tube amp. I media blasted the chassis to have a clean slate. I'll use the original eyelet board and a bunch of parts. It's got a nice head cabinet with a fan and all. Should make a beauty.

I've decided to build another Princeton 6G2. This one I'll try to stay closer to original layout etc. I've got nice front and rear panels, proper chassis, Hammond iron, blue molded caps. It's coming along nicely. Need a couple parts and a cabinet, but yah, it'll be a nice representation of a 1963 vintage tube amp.
