Negotiation- Famous English writer, George Bernard Shaw was at a fancy dinner one evening and turned to an attractive woman beside him and asked her, "Would you go to bed with me for a million pounds?" The woman replied that she would. Shaw then asked, "Would you go to bed with me for 100 pounds." to which the woman said "Why sir, what do you take me for?" Shaw replied, "Madam, we've already established what you are...we are now just settling on a price!"
Sales Notes
1. All top sales people must know &
understand how data can help them.
- the quick breakdown of data-> how it relates to benefits
for customers
2. Quick assessment visually of an environment will tell you
about that place of business. Make mental notes about:
- furnishings
- pictures
- uniforms
- decor
- computers
- office equipment
3. There are only 1,760 selling hours in one entire year. We
can't afford to be busy servicing unproductive, unprofitable
accounts.
4. Don't be fooled by revenue numbers. Revenue alone doesn't
keep a business afloat, profits do.
5. Beginning sales people will try anything just to make a sale,
Veteran sales people will try nothing for fear of losing a sale.
The Basics for General Managers or First-Time Managers
1. Reshape the work environment, largely by raising
performance standards.
2. Craft a strategic vision for the company.
3. Allocate resources in a way that supports a competitive
strategy.
4. Develop and encourage top-notch employees.
5. Re-organize the company structure to keep up with the
changing times.
6. Run day-to-day operations by spotting problems and
opportunities.
While these 6 points appear to be basic, at a minimum requirements, it is surprising how many managers are not able to understand these are the core operational requirements that, if perfected through repetition and diligence, can a lead a company to greatness.

This article is a call to normalize the antics of the current administration. I prefer to not pick my battles nor normalize alternative facts, racism, sexism or personal conflicts of interest, ill-vetted executive orders, personal attacks on those that uphold our constitution or to pay for a wall that will not solve a problem that is more complex than bricks and mortar. I find it necessary that we speak out when appropriate - no matter how often.
Sorry - not chillin...not at all.

Chill, America. Not every Trump outrage is outrageous. Constant panic undermines his critics and boosts his base.

Today is the birthday of the first ever hard drive from IBM...1956. The RAMAC hard drive could hold roughly 5 MB of data, the equivalent of an MP3 music file and was the size of a refrigerator!! That may seem puny, but in the 50s, it was enormous.
