Fire Chiefs across Middlesex County municipalities have lifted the burn ban, effective today, Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

Municipalities will continue to monitor changing weather conditions and the burn ban may be reinstate as needed. Prior to any open burning, residents are encouraged to check current restrictions in their municipality to ensure compliance.

This fall, MLPS will begin using the Medical Priority Dispatch System (MPDS) - an internationally recognized system that helps Emergency Medical Dispatchers better assess medical emergencies and prioritize the most life-threatening calls.

As demand for paramedic services continues to grow, MPDS will help ensure ambulances are available for patients with the most urgent medical needs while continuing to provide care for everyone who calls.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing more about what this means for our community and how it will help us continue delivering the right care at the right time.
