Last year, one of my workshop attendees asked me to write a recommendation letter for them.

They wanted to “get visibility” with upper management.

Before I agreed, I asked three questions:

• How were your Performance last year?
• What was your Annual Appraisal rating?
• What measurable impact did you create beyond your role?

His KPIs were mid-level.

A few bad months.
Appraisal rating: “Meets expectations.”
No major initiatives led.

And yet he wanted more exposure.

Here’s what I told him:
Visibility without Credibility is noise.

If you can’t stand out in the role you were hired for, adding visibility won’t suddenly change your trajectory.

In leadership development sessions, I teach what I call the Performance Priority Ladder:
Level 1: Deliver consistent KPIs.
Level 2: Exceed targets when conditions are tough.
Level 3: Improve systems, people, or results beyond your job description.
Level 4: Then seek visibility.

High-performing organizations promote impact.

Weak cultures promote activity.

If you're hosting:
• A Leadership Conference
• A Management Offsite
• A Financial Services Summit
• An Executive Development Event

I speak about Performance Culture, Accountability, and how to build Leaders who earn influence instead of chasing it.

Because Promotions should be a byproduct of Performance.

If you’re looking for a direct, practical voice on people management and executive development, let’s talk.
