Saving everything means saving nothing. I see this a lot especially when it comes to saving our children's school work/crafts/drawings. I know it's hard to part with things because they all seem so special and we are proud of our little ones.

But when we start saving everything and tell ourselves we will go through it one day, it becomes a huge daunting pile and we can't even remember what things were actually meaningful. It all starts becoming junk. Or it all becomes too special and we become paralyzed in making decisions.

Now imagine if every time your kids come home with school work/projects/art etc. You sort through it immediately. Maybe you keep 1 special thing or maybe none of it really has much significance and you keep something from the next pile.

Suddenly the small curated pile of things to keep actually feels special and not daunting.
