2024 has been an incredible year here at Hart Direction—a year of profound transformation, both personal and professional. I am deeply grateful for every moment. Reflecting on the past year, I realize that growing daily to become the best wife, mom, sister, friend, and business leader has been truly life-changing. It has fueled my excitement and energy for what lies ahead in 2025.
One of the most significant shifts I made at Hart Direction this year was focusing on Brand Strategy Consulting and Coaching. As many of you know, I’ve been part of the branding, marketing, and creative world for over 30 years. This pivot came from listening closely to small business owners and understanding their greatest challenges. Beyond saving time and money, their key need was learning how to align, prioritize, and execute strategies to grow their businesses.
This is where I’ve found my purpose—helping small business owners navigate and create clear roadmaps that guide them on their journey to sustainable growth. As we step into 2025, I’m thrilled to continue growing together, side by side.
Looking back, I feel immense gratitude for all the people who have supported and inspired me this year. Whether through encouragement, belief in my vision, or simply witnessing Hart Direction’s evolution, your impact has meant the world to me. I’m also grateful for the countless small joys that made 2024 so extraordinary.
As we enter the holiday season, I encourage you to find moments every day—not just during the festivities—to connect meaningfully with others. Reach out to someone who might need a listening ear, offer an unexpected hug, pick up the phone for a call (not just a text), or visit someone who can’t easily get out. These small acts can leave a lasting impact.
Cheers to all of you for making 2024 so wonderful and to an even brighter, more prosperous 2025.
Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones. Stay warm. Stay safe. Be kind to everyone. Share your gifts with those who need them most.
With love, peace, joy, and gratitude,
Michelle

On this solemn day, November 11th, we pause to honour the brave men and women who have fought for our freedom. Their sacrifice is the foundation of the peace and liberty we cherish today.
Let us come together as a nation to remember and thank those who served and continue to serve. Their courage and dedication remind us of the true cost of freedom and the immense gratitude we owe.
As we wear our poppies and observe moments of silence, let's reflect on our shared responsibility to uphold the values they fought for. May we strive every day to create a world of peace, unity and compassion.

🧡 **National Day for Truth and Reconciliation** 🧡
Today, we pause to honor the resilience, strength, and voices of Indigenous peoples across Canada. As we reflect on the lasting impacts of residential schools, let’s also acknowledge the land on which we live, work and play –traditional territories of the Attawandaron, Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and Lunaapeewak peoples in Middlesex and Elgin counties.
Wearing an orange shirt symbolizes that Every Child Matters, reminding us of the importance of listening, learnin, and standing together in reconciliation.
Today is a day of reflection, action, and commitment to better understanding our shared history and creating a brighter future.
Today we recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day and celebrate the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis across Canada.
ACKNOWLEDGE National Indigenous People’s Day as a day to recognize how privileged we are to live, work and serve on the lands we stand upon today, is the traditional territory of the Attawandaron, Anishinabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Lunaapeewak peoples.
LISTEN and be open to indigenous culture and stories to support truth and reconciliation.
LEARN and find ways to educate and understand our rich indigenous heritage and find peace in our diversity.
CARE for our abundant land and take time to be grateful for its contribution and beautiful people.
June 21 marks the day of Summer Solstice and reminds us to turn inward and find the nourishment needed to grow and evolve.

International Women's Day 2024 campaign theme is 'Inspire Inclusion'.
When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world.
And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there's a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment.
Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women.
I was proud to attend the All Women Lead's "Take Your Place Achieve" Event celebrating International Women's Day on March 4th in London! The Biggest International Women's Day Event in Southwestern Ontario.

Belmont Community Park – It’s Our Park
My hometown of Belmont, Ontario, for over 20 years is a special place, especially this time of year. Over the years I have seen old traditions become new traditions in our small village.
Belmont Community Park is just one of those special places that I think of, and one that all of us hold dear to our hearts. Once this big vacant lot was nothing but a field on the corner of Highway 74 and Avon / Caesar Road. The land was generously donated to the community as long as it remained green space.
Over the years there were many fundraising events that brought the community together to raise money and generous donations so this space could be transformed into this beautiful park as we know it today. There is a pond with waterfalls and fountains, gorgeous landscaping of trees, blossoming bushes, flowers, rocks and gardens, a gazebo, many benches and sitting areas, little bridges and walkways with commemorative stones.
Memories are created here now. It’s the #1 photoshoot stop for hundreds of local “prom goers”, with kids and parents arriving in cars, buses and limos. People from all over come here to take their family portraits, engagement and wedding pictures. It is the perfect spot where we hold community events and family celebrations. We are truly blessed with this space that is owned by the community.
I can attest to many people in our community, that walking through the park during the holidays is a family tradition. It has grown bigger over the years, with additional Christmas scenes and more lights, and I assume it is because the trees keep getting bigger. It just amazes me when I see all of the flection of lights on the surface of the pond that amplifies its sparkling beauty two-fold. My picture does not do this justice. I get to appreciate this “live” every night as a drive-by on my way home from work. I would like to thank the Lions Club, Belmont Swans, All that Glitters and all the people from our community, that make the Festival of Lights happen every year. It is a huge setup (and takedown).
Another thing I just love about this space is when I get to see people of all ages skating on the pond in the winter when the ice freezes. Everyone is sharing the ice. From little ones learning to skate, mini shimmy games going on, and older kids joining in. I love listening outside my home, as the sounds of joy and laughter travel up to my house and the echo of skate blades carving the ice. It just screams Canada winter for me.
I would like to thank the people who helped maintain the winter pond over the years. People just seem to take over this delightful chore, anonymously, year after year, and that is the beauty of it. I see young and old take part in the daily ice clearing, and the big job after a snowstorm, and the occasional (Unauthorized) flooding from the fire department. Let me not forget to mention the hockey nets that just seem to appear every year for everyone to use and the sporadic rescue they need when the ice starts to melt so randomly throughout the season.
I would also like to thank a man named Mark. A lot of us know who you are, but maybe some people don’t. Mark took over looking after the park’s maintenance purely out of wanting to give back to his community, and he gets to do what he loves to do. He works so hard and does the most wonderful job of maintaining the park so we can enjoy its seasonal beauty. Don’t forget, this is our park. The municipality does not look after it.
Thank you to everyone for your contributions to this spectacular space we get to enjoy all season long. As I stroll through the lights and take in the festive displays, I get to reflect on how special this space is and how full of gratitude I am to have this and call Belmont my home.
We all know it takes a village. And what a great village we have.
