Those who call Lethbridge County home are hard-working, community-minded and take great pride in making the County an excellent place to live, work and invest. The agriculture industry is an economic driver not only for the County, but the entire region, generating nearly $4 billion annually. We have seen tremendous growth in agriculture since the County’s incorporation in 1964, and well before that, too. Irrigation has allowed for high-value crops to be grown (potatoes, corn, canola) alongside dryland staples like wheat and barley. We’re also home to one of the highest concentrations of feedlots and livestock in Canada. We are approximately 200 km south of the City of Calgary and 100 km north of the United States border, surrounded by the Blood Tribe and Municipal District of Willow Creek to the west, Vulcan County to the north, the Municipal District of Taber to the east, and Cardston County and the Municipal District of Warner to the south. 🧡 National Day of Truth & Reconciliation 🧡
Today, we honour the resilience and strength of Indigenous communities, including the Blackfoot Confederacy, and the Métis Nation of Alberta.
Lethbridge County stands with these communities as we reflect on the past, and acknowledge the truths of residential schools.
This day is a time for all of us to listen, learn, and support the journey towards healing and understanding. Our office is closed today, Wednesday, Sept 30.

Having served as an EFP Technician for the past five years, Matthew brings a strong agricultural background and firsthand experience growing up on his family farm in Saskatchewan. Passionate about the outdoors and supporting producers, he sees tremendous value in the EFP program and the awareness it brings to sustainable farm management practices.

County Conversations 🎙️ live on Jess TV!
County Conversations is a monthly show that shines a light on the people that power Lethbridge County. Hosted by Trevor Lewington, each episode features County employees sharing their stories, their backgrounds, and what they do every day to help build a vibrant community.
September's guest is Jeran Lynnes.
Jeran came to the County straight out of high school, diving right into whatever project came his way. From data entry to facilities maintenance to co-leading the parade season, over last couple of years, he’s tried his hand at almost everything.
When he’s not on County business, you’ll find him in the lecture halls and practice rooms of the University of Lethbridge, where he’s pursuing a degree in music, or behind the drumkit at a Heartvelvets show.
