Mine closure starts long before the last truck leaves site. β›οΈπŸŒΏ

Across Canada, closure and reclamation planning continues to receive attention as regulators, communities, engineers, consultants, and operators focus on long-term environmental performance β€” especially around water quality, waste management, remediation, and financial liability.

Effective closure is about more than meeting a final requirement. It requires practical planning, safe ex*****on, reliable field support, and strong collaboration between operators, engineers, consultants, regulators, and service providers.

At KBL, we work closely with engineering and consulting partners to support mining clients across the full project lifecycle, including:

βœ… waste management and disposal
βœ… contaminated soil and water management
βœ… water treatment support
βœ… remediation and reclamation support
βœ… demolition, decommissioning, and site restoration
βœ… logistics and field ex*****on in remote regions

Responsible closure is built through the decisions made every day during operations.

KBL is excited to be supporting the ongoing removal of the grounded MSC Baltic III at Cedar Cove, Newfoundland and Labrador.

As part of this complex marine response, our team has mobilized and installed an on-site water treatment system to manage water removed from the vessel’s flooded cargo holds.
The water is processed through a controlled treatment and filtration system before discharge, providing an important environmental safeguard as crews continue preparing the vessel for removal.

The project reflects the type of work KBL is built for: practical environmental solutions delivered in remote, constrained and logistically complex environments.

Turning waste into valuable resources. β™»οΈπŸŽ¨

KBL Environmental is proud to support innovative latex paint recycling solutions that help divert significant volumes of paint from landfills while creating new opportunities for material recovery and reuse. 🌎✨

Through a successful partnership and specialized processing facilities across Western and Northern Canada, recovered latex paint is repurposed for use in the cement manufacturing process, supporting circular economy initiatives and reducing environmental impact. πŸ”„πŸ—οΈ

Our commitment to resource recovery extends beyond paint itself. Plastic and metal containers generated during the recycling process are carefully separated, prepared, and sent to approved recycling facilities, ensuring valuable materials remain in the supply chain rather than becoming waste. πŸ›’οΈβ™»οΈ

By maximizing recovery and minimizing disposal, KBL continues to deliver sustainable waste management solutions that support environmental stewardship and a more circular future. πŸŒ±βš™οΈ
