A heartfelt thank you to Mike Cohen and The Suburban Montreal for their continued support of our community and of Stage Craft over the years.
Local journalism matters. It shines a light on the people, organizations, and initiatives working to make a positive difference, and Mike has consistently been one of those voices helping to uplift our community.
I am especially grateful for his recent coverage of Stage Craft and the work we are doing to help young people develop confidence, creativity, leadership, and self-expression through the performing arts.
It is always encouraging to feel seen and appreciated, but even more meaningful to know that the work we do is having an impact on the lives of young people.
One of my favorite quotes from Mother Marie-Anne Blondin reminds me why this work is so important:
“The deeper a tree sinks its roots into the soil, the greater are the chances of growing and producing fruit.”
At Stage Craft, we love to fortify and fertilize young spirits and talents so they may grow deeper roots and blossom into their full, glorious nature—on the stage, and within their communities.
Thank you, Mike, for helping share these stories and for your dedication to celebrating the people who make our community stronger.

Every great singer starts somewhere — and for many people, that starting point is something they’ve carried for years, quietly on the side.
The New Student Singing Lesson at Stage Craft Coach is for anyone who has always been interested in singing but never fully stepped forward. Maybe it felt like “not the right time,” or maybe fear or self-doubt got in the way. But there comes a point where you realize you have nothing to lose — and everything to gain by finally exploring something you’ve always been drawn to.
This first private 1-on-1 session is a supportive, pressure-free experience designed to help you discover your voice in a real and encouraging way. You’ll choose a song you love and sing along with a karaoke track while receiving gentle professional guidance and feedback. From there, we explore your natural ability, comfort level, and potential, and begin shaping a path that supports your growth.
Developing your voice is not just about singing — it builds confidence, presence, expression, and self-trust that carries into every area of life. It’s a form of personal development as much as it is musical training.
This is your moment to stop putting it off and start exploring something you’ve always wanted to do.
There is no long-term commitment — just one first class. A chance to try, explore, and see what opens up when you give yourself permission.
Don’t let fear hold you back from something you love.

Dear Miss Karyna, Miss Nadia, and Miss María,
You truly rocked it this showcase season.
What a journey it has been across Hillcrest, Twin Oaks, Jules Verne, Souvenir, and McCaig — six showcases filled with heart, growth, and so many beautiful moments. It truly takes a village, and I couldn’t have done it without you.
Miss Karyna, your work on video, backstage, creating the right ambiance, and managing the prop table elevated everything. Your growth has been beautiful to witness, and I’m so proud to be mentoring you.
Miss Nadia, congratulations again on stepping into your first class at Jules Verne. Coaching alongside me and supporting at the front door and attendance made such a difference. This is just the beginning for you.
Miss María, your coaching across Hillcrest, Twin Oaks, Jules Verne, and Souvenir has been incredible to witness. You have stepped fully into a leadership role, and your attention to sound continues to bring every performance to life while anchoring the team with strength and calm.
And all of you — thank you for showing up so fully at the showcases and for your teamwork during setup and teardown. Seamless, supportive, and full of heart.
It was such a beautiful experience working alongside three incredible souls. I’m so grateful you are part of Stage Craft. You’ve given me new wings to keep going, growing, and dreaming bigger.
Because of you, we’re stepping onto more stages, reaching more children, and deepening our connection with the community in meaningful ways.
The sky is the limit.
Let’s keep holding the vision, praying for the right schools and administrators to see the value in what we’re building, and continuing to expand our impact together.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
With so much love and appreciation,
Sheli Stevens 🎙️

We had an amazing Stage Craft showcase — it was incredible to see how much the kids have grown and leveled up during this first session! 🌟🎶 Their confidence, energy, and creativity on stage were truly inspiring. ✨
We’re thrilled to have partnered with Jules Verne as our seventh school with SWLSB, bringing this uplifting program to such talented and motivated students.
Directed by founder and professional singer Sheli Stevens, Stage Craft uses music, movement, and creativity to help kids build confidence, express themselves, and shine as part of a supportive community. 💜
This semester’s program was coached by Miss Diana, who guided the students beautifully throughout the sessions. 🎤👩🏫
We can’t wait for the next session — spaces are limited, so don’t miss the chance to sign up and let your child experience the magic of Stage Craft! 🌟🙌
