Let's talk DIY florals.

First things first. Florists are amazing! I am always in awe at the works of art they create! They are an amazing investment to make your wedding beautiful.

It's possible hiring a professional isn't in your budget. Or you are a DIY bride legend and want to do as much hands on creation for your wedding as you can. If you're thinking this might be you I'm here to tell you it is possible. It will take you time, and looooooots of it.

For Maegan's wedding all her flowers were DIY'd by myself and a team of her closest friends. It was a super fun girlie time, spent chatting and making the arrangements through a lot of trial and error.

I see cherry blossoms in my park which means Spring has Sprung! This makes it the perfect time to talk about bouquets.

Your Bridal Bouquet can be a thoughtful representation of your entire wedding day theme. Sydney's wedding was full of colour, laughter and whimsey and this bouquet from Bespoke Blooms nailed it!

I loved the assortment of blooms in this bouquet. It gave beautiful movement on the wedding day, especially with those Pender Island breezes.

When choosing your bouquet style it's also important to envision your dress. Think about if the bouquet will be lost in the dress or if it will hide important details of it. Sydney's bouquet ended up complementing her dress perfectly and it looked beautiful on the sweetheart table later that evening.

Continuing to highlight some beautiful First Dances. This first dance by Jimin and Pasha was beautiful, and I think importantly, it was fun! A great kick off to a dance party under the canopy of some cedar trees

This month I want to highlight one of the most serene moments of a wedding. The first dance. The wedding day can go by so fast but the first dance serves as a beautiful reminder to the couple and their guests of why everyone is there. I find that even partners who aren't into dancing/avoid being the center of attention enjoy this part of the day as an intentional time to take a breath and be with each other.

I'm starting with and a couple I had the privilege of working with in 2025. Brett and Isabel were full of fun and love all day and getting to watch their first dance felt so special. Not only did they do a First Dance they also did a private "Last Dance" to Isabel's favourite Tswift while their guests got ready for the Grand exit!
