COUNTY ROAD ADVISORY | Heavy rainfall has significantly impacted gravel roads across Lacombe County. Motorists can expect soft, muddy surfaces and challenging driving conditions.

All gravel roads are currently in poor condition. Crews will begin work as soon as conditions improve enough to allow safe equipment operation.

Until then, please use caution when driving and adjust travel plans accordingly.

NOTICE | Eckville Flood Study Underway

Lacombe County residents may notice survey crews working along the Medicine River and Lasthill Creek this summer. This work is part of the Eckville Flood Study, a provincial initiative to better understand flood risks in our region.

The study will assess:
• 18 km of the Medicine River
• 7 km of Lasthill Creek

What to expect:
Survey crews will be collecting river and ground elevation data in June and July to support updated flood mapping and hazard identification. This important work will help:
✔ Improve public safety
✔ Support emergency response planning
✔ Inform future development decisions

The study is currently in its early stages, with completion expected in spring 2027.

OPEN HOUSE | LACOMBE REGIONAL AIRPORT MASTER PLAN

A new master plan is being developed to guide the future of the Lacombe Regional Airport, and we’re looking for your input. The Master Plan will build on the progress completed to-date and serve as the primary guide for the City of Lacombe, Lacombe County, and the Lacombe Flying Club as they plan for the airport’s future.

GET INVOLVED! Community input is an important part of the master plan process. Residents, businesses, interested stakeholders and airport users are invited to attend the upcoming open house.
