🍎 Introducing Our School Snack Program! 🍎

For the past few years, Echo Lacombe Association has been delivering baskets of rescued food to schools in Lacombe and the surrounding area. The challenge with rescued food is that we never know exactly what or how much food we will have each week.

Our new School Snack Program will build on what we are already doing by allowing us to purchase healthy, school-friendly snacks to add to these baskets.

Our goal is simple: to make sure every child in our community can focus on learning, not on being hungry.

You can support the program by donating money or snack items such as granola bars, fruit cups, crackers and other individually packaged snacks - or donate so we can purchase the snacks.

We are so grateful to Eagle Heating for their wonderful donation to Echo Food Rescue!

We’re going to put these dollars to good use by purchasing snacks for our School Snack Program, helping us make sure kids in our local schools have something to eat when they need it.

Every week, we’re working to get snacks into our schools so that no child has to try to learn on an empty stomach. Support like this from local businesses makes that possible.

💚 We are honoured to be nominated for Non-Profit of the Year! 💚

Echo Food Rescue has been nominated for Non-Profit of the Year at the Lacombe & District Chamber of Commerce Business Gala Awards, and we are incredibly grateful to be recognized alongside so many amazing organizations in our community.

What started as a simple idea to keep good food from going to waste has grown into something pretty incredible. Every week, our volunteers rescue thousands of pounds of food that might otherwise end up in the landfill and get it back into the hands of people in our community who can use it.

But Echo Food Rescue has become about so much more than rescuing food. It’s about bringing people together, reducing food waste, helping stretch grocery budgets, supporting other local organizations, and making sure good food gets used instead of thrown away.

None of this would happen without our amazing volunteers, food donors, community partners, and every person who comes through our doors and helps us rescue food.

This nomination belongs to all of you. 💚
