We also want to recognize another group of incredibly generous supporters who helped make Curling for Wishes such a success.

Our very own Jamie Rooney donated her photography talents through For Always Photography. Jamie somehow manages to balance creativity, professionalism, and community spirit all at once, and we’re lucky to have her as part of the club.

Hayden Fisher Nails contributed an amazing prize as well. Hayden’s work speaks for itself, and the donation brought a lot of excitement to the event.

Le Golf Club stepped up with a fantastic contribution that golfers at the event were very interested in getting their hands on.

Bota Bota Spa donated an incredible experience that definitely caught people’s attention. Hard to go wrong with a floating spa in the Old Port.

And Diana Caruso generously supported the fundraiser as well. Diana is passionate about health, fitness, and helping people push themselves to be better every day.

Huge thank you to every one of them for supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation / Rêves d’Enfants.

Another group we absolutely need to recognize is the local restaurants that stepped up to support Curling for Wishes.

Microbrasserie 4 Origines came through with a fantastic donation and has always been a strong supporter of community events. Great people, great atmosphere, and a place that genuinely gives back.

Scores Dorval helped us out with prizes and support for the event, and if you’ve ever been there after a game or tournament, you already know why it’s such a local favourite.

La Table D’André contributed an incredible dining experience that drew a ton of interest during the event. A perfect example of a local business bringing something unique to the table.

Monsieur Mi Restaurant donated a great prize as well. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out. Amazing food and another business that didn’t hesitate to support a good cause.

Restaurant Souvlaki Lachine also joined in to support the fundraiser. A true local staple and one of those places that has been part of the community for years.

These kinds of businesses are a huge part of what makes community events possible. We really appreciate every one of them for helping us raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation / Rêves d’Enfants.

We also want to recognize a few incredibly talented and generous donors who didn’t just give items, they gave their time.

That matters.

Valentine put together a beautiful baby blanket and gift basket.
Michelle Myles donated a painting that honestly stopped people in their tracks.
Jennifer Kokesch created an amazing hand-knit blanket.
And the Beaconsfield Quilters' Guild who donated a stunning quilt.

You can see the care and effort in every one of these. These aren’t off-the-shelf donations, these were made by hand, and it showed.

Huge thank you to all of you for putting that kind of time and heart into this event.

If you missed your chance at the quilt, you’ve got another shot! The Beaconsfield Quilters' Guild is hosting an exhibition of their work from June 5–7 at the Baie-D'Urfé Curling Club, and there will be another beautiful quilt raffled off.

If you’re interested, reach out to Mel Dorval at [email protected] for details.

Time to start calling out some of the major contributors to our Curling for Wishes fundraiser. We’ll be recognizing more sponsors and donors over the next few days.

First and foremost, Goldline Curling

The signed broom handle they donated was a complete game changer. That raffle alone brought in over $2,000. The extra brooms didn’t hurt either, they had people fired up all day.

Big thanks as well to Curling Québec for the broom and toque combos. Great prizes, lots of interest.

And Curling Canada went above and beyond with an absolutely unreal donation, a full event double pass to the 2027 Men’s World Championship.
Johanne Tremblay and Yves Regis will be heading there in their Curling for Wishes shirts to represent all of us.

More to come.

What an incredible finish for Curling for Wishes 💙🥌

Together, we raised $20,586 for Make-A-Wish / Rêves d’Enfants. Let that sink in for a moment before you continue reading.

$20,586

Some of you may know I was born and raised in Lachine, and even though life has taken me to different places, in my heart I’ve always been a Lachiner.

Lachiners are special people. We’re not quite downtown, not quite West Island, somewhere in the middle. We’re independent, fiercely loyal, and incredibly generous. There’s a real sense of pride in this community, and people show up for each other when it matters.

While not everyone at Lachine Curling Club lives in Lachine, I like to think that a lot of that Lachiner spirit has infused itself into all of us. Over the last month, we proved exactly that.

What started as an idea became something much bigger, a club-wide effort powered by generosity, heart, and an amazing community coming together for one purpose: helping grant life-changing wishes for children facing critical illnesses.

I can still remember when Charley received her wish, the unfiltered joy, hope, and pure happiness it brought to her and to our entire family. It had an enormous impact on us. Knowing that strangers, people we would never meet, took the time and gave their resources to make a little girl’s dream come true gave us something far bigger than the wish itself. It gave us hope, memories we will never forget, and a reminder of how powerful generosity can be.

At the time, we couldn’t put faces or names to the countless people and businesses who donate to Make-A-Wish every year.

With Curling for Wishes, that was different.

This time, it was all of us.

It was the Lachine Curling Club family. The people we curl with and against. The people we share a drink with after the game. The people we stand shoulder to shoulder with during interclub bonspiels. Friends, members, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters.

We should all be incredibly proud knowing that together, we made a real difference in the lives of multiple critically ill children.

Make-A-Wish gave us a certificate recognizing us, and I truly hope we hang it somewhere prominent in the club.

In many ways, that certificate means even more than the trophies and banners we’re all so proud of. Those represent wins on the ice. This represents something much bigger.

When we walk by it next season, and in the seasons to come, I hope we all stop for a second, smile, and remember what this club accomplished together.

I had a lot of people tell me last night they couldn’t believe how well run the event was. While I truly appreciate everyone coming to me with those kind words, I really can’t take that credit.

Josee Martel was the admiral of the ship, calmly navigating everything, making sure nothing was forgotten, keeping us on course, and ensuring that everything worked. Events like this don’t happen by accident, and her leadership was a huge reason this one was such a success.

From our silent auction donors, corporate sponsors, and club members, to everyone who bought tickets, shared posts, donated prizes, placed bids, volunteered time, and helped spread the word, thank you.

A special thank you as well to the incredible athletes and supporters who helped amplify the campaign, including video messages, signed memorabilia, and their time and encouragement. Your support helped take this to another level.

This was never just about fundraising. It was about showing what a community like ours can do when people step up for something bigger than themselves.

To everyone who helped make this happen, thank you. You made a real difference.

We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished together.

$20,586 raised.
Countless smiles ahead.

Quelle fin incroyable pour Curling for Wishes 💙🥌

Avec Curling for Wishes, c’était différent.

🔔🔔🔔Curling for Wishes - Campaign Update (April 19th 2026) 🔔🔔🔔

We need to take a moment and say this properly.

What’s happened so far… is honestly incredible.

Because of you, real momentum is building. This isn’t just numbers on a page. This is a community stepping up to give a child something they desperately need, hope, joy, and something to look forward to in the middle of a fight no kid should ever have to face.

We’ve also had some amazing support step up along the way. Huge thanks to Matt Dunstone and Tyler McGregor for getting behind the campaign, it means a lot, and it’s helped push this even further.

Every donation has mattered. Every share has mattered. You are part of something real.

And because of that… We’re raising our goal to $10,000.

That number means something. It brings us closer to making a full wish come true something that can change a child’s outlook, their strength, even their recovery.

If you’ve already given, thank you. You’ve helped push this further than we expected.

If you’ve been meaning to donate, now’s the moment.

Let’s not slow down now. Let’s finish this the right way.

Huge thank you to Team Canada Skipper Matt Dunstone. We know how busy things are, so the fact that Matt took the time to support this campaign means a lot to us and to the families we’re trying to reach.

What we’re building with our wheelchair curling program is truly something special, and support like this helps us reach more kids and families who need it.

🎯 Curling for Wishes – April 26

We’re hosting a special event at the Lachine Curling Club in support of Make-A-Wish Canada 💫

This is inspired by my daughter Charley, a young wheelchair curler who received a wish in 2021. Since then, we’ve built a junior wheelchair curling program, now with 6 incredible athletes, one of the only programs of its kind.

Now we want to grow it, and we need your help.
