Pumpkins the colour of sunsets. Pumpkins blushing pink. Pumpkins striped, speckled, warty and wonderfully weird. At Good Family Pumpkins, autumn refuses to pick just one colour.
More than 120 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds transform this family farm just outside Waterloo into a patchwork of fall colour. Some are destined for front porches. Others for pies and harvest dinners. And a few are so wonderfully unusual that taking them home feels almost mandatory.
Behind it all are generations of the Good family, growing, gathering and sharing the season together on land their family has called home for more than 60 years.
Bring an empty trunk. You may have every intention of buying a pumpkin.

From bustling market aisles to apple orchards stretching across the countryside, the segment captures something we have always loved about exploring Waterloo Region: the chance to meet the people behind our food, discover where it comes from and experience the countryside one delicious stop at a time.

A Highland cow poses for the camera. A goat wanders onto your yoga mat. And somewhere nearby, there’s a scoop of ice cream with your name on it. Life gets wonderfully ridiculous at Udderly Ridiculous Farm Life.
Out in the countryside, alpacas wander through sunset picnics, miniature goats become unlikely new friends, and shaggy Highland cows seem to know exactly when the camera is pointed their way. There are moments that make you slow down, others that make you laugh out loud, and plenty that end up living in the camera roll long after the visit is over.
Then there’s the goat milk ice cream.
Come for the countryside. Stay for the animals. Leave with an ice cream in one hand and 47 new photos in the other.
