I will be running another IFS group for q***r folx starting next month! Contact me or for more information. It's been so incredible running this group twice already and I'm excited for another round this winter. We need each other more than ever and we need to cultivate these communal healing spaces. 💙

The wonderful sent me this picture from 10 years ago today. It's wild to think that Seeing Through the Label started as a book I self-published and released all about my own story of mental health. I'm so glad I was vulnerable and honest and shared my story. This led to driving myself across Canada to continue to talk to others about their mental health as well as mine. I remember dreaming as a youth about sharing my story and then helping others heal. 10 years later and I still have the privilege of dedicating my life to helping others write their own stories of healing and recovery. 🤍🤍🤍

New blog, who dis? But seriously, first blog in almost two years. All about friendship break-ups. Link in bio but here's a snippet.
"Friendship break-ups hurt. They are hard. And it's okay to feel whatever you are feeling about it and honour the parts of you that are coming up the best way you can. So validate yourself as much as you can and if you're sending love and light to your ex-bestie, I hope you can send some to yourself as well. May you be safe. Maybe you be happy. May you be healthy. ❤️"

Today marks TEN YEARS working in mental health. I am so eternally grateful to have a career that I love. Thank you to everyone I've worked with on both sides of the couch.
1: My first photo ID card
2: Being a part of the MHEART team (through CMHA and local police/OPP)
3: My first day at Langs CHC
4: Beginning of private practice
5: Me now! Loving life

Finished my first book of 2022. did not disappoint with this one. Powerful definitions for some of our most nuanced emotions. Understanding and acknowledging our emotions is such a powerful tool. I'm sure I will continue to reference this book for years to come. I'd definitely recommend.

You can also still find me working in a pet friendly room (and pumping iron on my breaks). 💪👊

Bernard was my therapy assistant today. He did a great job but he mostly slept through it. 🐻❤️

Life is busy. Life is stressful. Life is full. I'm going to make more of an effort to practice mindfulness daily. This is how I started my morning. I had my morning coffee sitting in my nook with the sun beaming down on my face. I stayed present (as much as I could) and enjoyed every sensation. When actions are done with intention, they can have a very different result.

I recently wrote a blog about EMDR.
"I would not be the person I am today without my story, but I would also not be the person I am today without healing. These experiences shape who we are. They do not need to define us."
Check it out through the website. And find out more about EMDR and why it's important to me.

My new blog is about fear. Losing an animal is the worst part about loving one. After a loss, we may fear the loss of another. Don't let anxiety get in the way of loving them. Enjoy what time you have together. Check it out at https://www.seeingthroughthelabel.com/blog or follow the link in my bio.
