153 days with a mandolin: the A section of "The Castle Hornpipe" by 19th century East Coast musician, King Colbath. Starting the B (and C?!?!) sections next.

Voice is a bit worn, but working on some "chop" vocal accompaniment on mandolin over a classic tune. CAN-CON represent.

Walked into my bedroom around sunset the other day and saw the window creating these wiiild colours. Quickly grabbed my guitar and played a Xavier Rudd song before the light went away two minutes later.

Picked up a fully repaired and fixed up djembe (the one on the left) from Saikou of African Drum Arts & Crafts in Toronto the other day. Giving it in a spin with my other djembe from Mali. The two compliment each other beautifully.

Killing time between students, why not play some Metallica on uke.

I'd love to do this exact percussion set-up for a project some day. Any takers?

Mandolin day 63. Happy New Year!

On a personal note: I greatly look forward to a year of creativity, music, and the strengthening of friendships. This year was a bit of a mixed bag with many VERY positive things, and also some unexpected challenges. Nonetheless, I feel blessed within my home community for positive things ahead.

On a global note: my deepest desire is that the worst of humanity will begin to crumble under the weight of their ivory towers. That these genocidal, warmongering, greedy, narcissistic monsters will face the full brunt of societal justice.

Thus, my prayer is that the overwhelming population will see their own strengths. That those who sit on the sidelines and choose to simply disengage might reconsider. And most importantly: that those who follow these types without question will have moments of reflection, and rethink their narratives. That they might thoroughly analyze their upbringing, their relationship circles, or the media they consume. And after noticing patterns, take steps to rethink their perspectives.
