One of my favourite paintings. I’ve always loved birch trees - maybe I’ll paint another one, a little different this time…
Let me be real for a minute.
Some days I log in and the work just isn’t there, and that seems to be happening more and more as the Economy is going down the tubes.
As a freelance business owner I rely on a regular customer base to provide me with the opportunity to be of service, and when they struggle, so do I.
It may not be a reality for most of you because you are answering to an employer, but when you work for yourself that reality is a pretty big deal.
I’m not trying to be a “Negative Nelly” but some days are harder than others, so I may not be as bubbly today as I usually am.
My wish is simple - just be nice. You never know who may be struggling.

Sometimes it takes slowing down to figure out what to do next. I often get caught up thinking that I have to constantly be producing something in order to prove I’m creative. Who am I proving myself to? And why does it matter? If I don’t have the energy to make art, forcing myself to create is going to be frustrating and the final product will be crap! So why not take a moment to breathe and allow for yourself to flow into the next chapter with ease…
