Season’s Greetings Rez Alum! Western University is sponsoring two of my financial wellness presentations this school year. The upcoming Jan. session has over 900 registrants at this point. Details are available via the link. The sessions are based on content from my new book - Lessons on Mastering Money: The Personal Finance Guide for Canadians in their 20s & 30s. The book was a global finalist in the inaugural 2022 Money Awareness & Inclusion Awards in the ‘Best Book’ category. David Kohler, FP Canada Fellow & Prof. of Financial Planning Services at Conestoga College wrote that “This is the finest personal finance book that I have ever read.” If interested, you can grab a copy at Words Worth Books in Uptown Waterloo or via curb side pickup at Volumes Direct near Conestoga Mall. It’s available online at Indigo too and at The Bookshelf in Guelph. Catch me every other Monday at noon on The Mike Farwell Show on CityNews570 Kitchener as Mike and I chat about personal finance in a 15-minute segment. Peace to one and all as Christmas approaches…

Supporting Possibilities… Making a Difference | Catholic Community Foundation of Waterloo Region 06/19/2021

Greetings Rez Alumni!

I wanted to follow up on my post here earlier this spring on behalf of Resurrection's principal, Marisa Munroe, to update you on how the Rez fundraising initiative is going thus far.

Thanks to your generosity, total funds raised stand at $2,285. Of that total, nearly 75% of the donation dollars have been earmarked for the 'Rez Phoenix Fund' which supports Rez students who are in financial need. Donations have also been coming in to support the other two identified needs: 'Rez Grad Fund' to help fund graduation awards and 'Rez@35 Fund' to assist with capital needs in advance of the school's 35th anniversary in 2025.

The fundraising initiative will wrap up at the end of the month. The goal has been set at $5,000 so the fundraiser is about halfway to the target thus far.

If you still wish to donate, simply hit the following link and follow the steps listed here:

https://www.ccfowr.ca/

- click on the 'donate' button
- enter the donation amount and select payment method
- click on 'Write a note (optional)' and you will be able to write in your preferred area of need to support
- the choices are Rez Phoenix Fund, Rez Grad Fund or Rez@35Fund
- complete the steps as prompted.

Thanks once again for all of your support - including your financial support - with this initiative!

Go Phoenix Go!

On behalf of Student Council, we would like to extend an invitation to one and all to join us in the Forum on Monday, December 12th after school (2:45) as we close the time capsule for another 25 years.

As part of the planning process for our 25th Anniversary Celebrations, Student Council took on the responsibility of collecting items during the 2015-2016 school year and this fall, to place in the time capsule. Great care has been taken to construct a vessel to not only hold those treasures but also some items from the original 1990 time capsule that were in good shape. Our students have all been invited to sign a large banner this week over the lunch periods and that too, will be placed in the time capsule. Michael Schmitt, our original Principal, will be joining us and an invitation has been sent out to our retirees to drop in to be part of the event as well.

It will be a short service, but if you're in the area, please feel free to join us!
