The business is owned and managed by Jeanine Niyonzima-Aroian who passionately pursues her dream of helping the coffee farmers of her birthplace, Burundi, Africa - a specialty coffee producing country. Burundi coffee grows in the high altitudes of 2,000 m above sea level, which contributes to the varieties of smooth, sweet, full bodies and complex profiles you find in Burundi coffee cups.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers in coffee communities and beyond!

In Burundi and Rwanda, women are at the heart of coffee production. From caring for coffee trees and harvesting cherries to sorting and drying coffee, their work shapes every harvest season.

Many of these women are also mothers, balancing family, farming, and community leadership every single day. Today, we celebrate their strength, dedication, and the care they pour into both their families and their coffees.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Some of you may not know… the 2026–2027 harvest in Burundi is underway 🇧🇮☕️

This harvest is expected to be stronger than the previous ones. Farmers have been picking cherries daily, and in some provinces, processing has already begun.

A glimpse into our SCA Coffee Skills Camp, currently taking place in Burundi. ☕

Students from many different backgrounds have come together with the same goal: to deepen their coffee knowledge. Under the guidance of ASTs Ludovic Maillard and Ennio Cantergianni, they are receiving hands-on training in Sensory Skills and Barista Skills.

We were also honored to welcome Katarzyna Zyzało-Moczydłowska from the SCA team, who spent time with the students and shared insights to support their continued journey in coffee.

Preparing for this camp came with challenges given the global situation, but the training has been incredibly well received. We’re proud to contribute to coffee education at origin and to support the next generation of coffee professionals. 🤎

On our way to the SCA Coffee Skills Camp in Burundi yesterday, keeping every woman in coffee in our hearts!

“I celebrate this International Women’s Day and Women History Month as a woman and mother by bringing back to my country, the youth and women the education in coffee that will transform their lives and future careers one day!”

In the first week of Women‘s History Month, we’re excited to share meaningful news — JNP Coffee has partnered with the Specialty Coffee Association to host an SCA Coffee Skills Camp in Burundi. Through this initiative, we aim to expand access and create meaningful opportunities that empower women and youth at origin.

Our Coffee Skills Camp will take place March 9–14, featuring hands-on training in Sensory Skills and Barista Skills led by ASTs Ludovic Maillard and Ennio Cantergiani. This camp is open to students from Burundi and neighboring countries, including Rwanda, Uganda, the DRC Congo, and Tanzania.

We believe that creating more opportunities at origin leads to lasting impact. Big shout-out to our kind sponsors — Ceado and Victoria Arduino — for generously donating equipment to support this training. Thank you for being part of the journey.

During Women’s History Month, this work feels especially meaningful as we celebrate the power of investing in women and the next generation. Together, we can make a difference.
