This week, Agilec teams came together for Turn the Tables on Hunger, a shared commitment across our organization to support people experiencing food insecurity in the communities we serve.

Our Kitchener team had the opportunity to volunteer their time, preparing food for The Church of St. John the Evangelist (Anglican), Kitchener kitchen – a gathering place and hub of support in the city for people experiencing homelessness and living in vulnerable circumstances.

Supporting this meaningful cause and contributing alongside our teammates is something we deeply value. While the impact is felt in our communities, giving back in this way stays with us long after the week is over, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to help make a difference.

This week marks our 12th annual Turn the Tables on Hunger, as we come together to help address food insecurity in the communities we serve.

This is one of our most meaningful events of the year and something we all look forward to. Throughout the week, team members across the organization will be making a difference in our communities by volunteering, fundraising, and driving other community-focused efforts to create impact for individuals and families experiencing hunger.

As we recognize Hunger Action Month and prepare for Agilec’s annual Turn the Tables on Hunger next week, we want to highlight resources available to support individuals and families who may need a helping hand.

September is Hunger Action Month 💛

Hunger affects individuals and families in every community, and Hunger Action Month is an opportunity to raise awareness about food insecurity and take steps in the collective role we can play to address it.

As part of our annual Turn the Tables on Hunger initiative and commitment to giving back, teams across Agilec will come together during the week of September 14 to support local food banks and community organizations that help ensure no one goes hungry. Follow our accounts to see how we are contributing our time and resources and for opportunities to join the cause.

We are excited to recognize Ashley from our Goderich team, who changed lives last month by supporting 34 individuals in finding and sustaining meaningful employment.

Ashley creates an environment where clients feel respected, heard, and supported by communicating openly, providing clear information, and ensuring clients have access to the resources they need to succeed. By taking the time to understand each individual’s strengths, goals, and barriers, she empowers clients to make informed decisions about their employment journey and build confidence in their abilities. Her ongoing support with job retention, workplace adjustments, and problem-solving helps clients overcome challenges and achieve long-term success, while fostering a sense of inclusion and belonging in the workplace.

Ashley’s impact shines through in the feedback she receives:
