Based on my trial walk the other day, I was going to plan a cleanup at Hamilton Beach. But guess what? This amazing organization Great Lakes Great Responsibility has already got one in the works💪💚Let’s help and do what we can to get this beach cleaned up!

HAMILTON! We are heading your way and would love to see you at our Lake Ontario Shoreline cleanup. You are stop #1 of 5 on our Great Lakes Cleanup Road Trip — an effort to raise awareness about plastics in our freshwater.

This event is about stewardship and education through action. 🌊 🧤 🪣

We’re inviting anyone and everyone to lend a hand, build community, play some games and maybe even win a prize or two! 🌸🤭

Thank you for sharing among your networks and RSVPing at www.greatlakeslove.org

Awesome cleanup tonight 🙌

soooo much GARBAGE!!! 😳 AGAIN - in the SAME place...

Plastic bottles (mostly water), Timmy’s cups, cigarette butts. UGH.😩

Huge thank you to everyone who came out and put in the work 💪🌍

Friendly reminder ♻️
Choose a reusable bottle - whenever you can —for water, coffee, tea… PLEASE. This pollution problem is OUT OF CONTROL!!!

Also—sorry to cancel Sunday’s Trail & Ale cleanup, it will be rescheduled soon! Stay tuned 👀

STEPS FOR THE OCEAN 🚶‍♀️

My name is Tenille Maher, founder of Beach Relief — and I’m walking 500 km to protect our oceans.

Because plastic doesn’t just disappear.

It travels—from our streets, through rivers and lakes, into our oceans—breaking down into microplastics that impact ecosystems… and us.

What feels small becomes something much bigger.

That’s why I’m walking.

Steps for the Ocean is a 500 km shoreline cleanup journey along Lake Ontario—from Niagara Falls to Brockville—to raise awareness and take action!

Along the way we will:
♻️ Clean up shorelines
🤝 Bring communities together
📢 Share the impact of plastic pollution
Because protecting our oceans doesn’t start at the ocean—it starts here.

In case you didn’t know, I hate balloons. And I also hate representations of balloons glorifying balloons. They are very common cleanup find EVERYWHERE.
