I have to cover 2 buildings about 40 min apart in my new job, but I can’t really say I mind the commute. 😁

Just enjoyed a week in Mexico with family, culminating in the joyous union of my elder daughter Paige to a wonderful addition to the family, Justin. There will be more pictures to add from that spectacular event.

But after a long overnight journey (and a recovery nap) I find myself so happy to be back where things are green and blue and cool.

I find myself once again on the beautiful patio adjacent to the Silver Bean Café on the banks of the Otonabee River.

The name of the river “o-to-NAH-bee” means “the river with a heartbeat” and I find that name simultaneously comforting and challenging. A constant heartbeat and reminder of things as they should be, and also of things to live up to and strive towards.

Guys all know - nothing tells you that a date is going well any better than when she reaches across the table to take some of your food.

Silver Bean Cafe closed for the season right after we moved to PTBO, we’ve waited 6 LONG MONTHS for this. (Their location in the Canoe Museum is nice too)

I did something yesterday I’d never done before in 25+ years of professional photography; I walked out on a client in the middle of a shoot.

The client was a hotel, and they were nowhere ready for the shoot. We tried to make it work but when it became clear they weren’t going to get it together in time, the GM turned on the staff, calling them “lazy”, “stupid” and “fuc&ing idiots” in front of me.

When I suggested I should come back another day when they were better prepared, he directed the same language at ME.

Game over buddy; good luck in the HOSPITALITY industry.

🙄😑
