YWCA Kitchener-Waterloo is honoured to welcome Nathalie Provost to the 5th Annual YW Rise Up Breakfast on May 22, 2026, at Bingemans Conference Centre.
A distinguished engineer, Canada’s Secretary of State (Nature), and survivor of the École Polytechnique massacre, Ms. Provost brings a powerful story of resilience, leadership, and advocacy. Awarded the Canadian Medal of Bravery, she has dedicated her career to public service, environmental leadership, and advancing gun control as a longtime voice with PolySeSouvient.
Elected in 2025 to represent Châteauguay–Les Jardins-de-Napierville, she continues to inspire audiences across Canada with her commitment to meaningful change.

Nominations are open – should you run? The Waterloo Region Women’s Campaign School is back for 2026.
Day 1 is May 2, 2026. The campaign school is holding a half-day free event for any woman in Waterloo Region who is thinking of running for municipal office in upcoming elections in October.

Please join us for the 5th Annual YW Rise Up Breakfast charity event on May 22, 2026 as Guest Speaker MP Nathalie Provost, an inspiring Canadian public servant and a courageous survivor of the 1989 École Polytechnique shooting. Now serving as the Liberal Member of Parliament and Secretary of State (Nature), she is a strong advocate for stronger gun control, decisive action against gender-based violence, and safer communities across Canada.
Including a partial tax receipt to be issued after the event. The event is from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
