Luke & Rae: More CCTV cameras equipped with licence plate recognition technology are being installed across Waterloo Region.
The first cameras are already up and running at King Street North & Conestogo Road and University Avenue West & King Street North, with additional locations planned in Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge, and North Dumfries.
Police say the cameras will be used for law enforcement purposes only, and footage that isn’t needed for an investigation will be automatically deleted after 30 days.
In total, 52 cameras will eventually be up and running at 10 locations.

Luke & Rae: Looks like more Ontario highways are moving to 110 km/h.
Starting this week, parts of Highways 401 and 416 in Eastern Ontario will see the higher speed limits. More sections of the 401, QEW, 402, 403, 416, and 417 are expected to follow by the end of September. The goal is shorter travel times for commuters By the fall, nearly 90% of Ontario’s provincial highway network could be posted at 110 km/h.

"I'm on several dating apps. The other night I was doomscrolling in bed when I saw one of my friends' fathers on the app. My friend's parents have been happily married for over 20 years. The extra weird part is, he's known in the community and has a fairly high-ranking job. Feels strange that he would so publicly solicit for a date or a hookup. If I'm seeing it, clearly others are as well. So do I tell my friend what I saw or keep it to myself? I would hate to blow up their lives, but girls need to stick together and if he's doing something wrong my friend and her mother deserve to know about it. Luke & Rae: Anyone who is going to treat an animal like this should be banned from owning a pet forever (in our humble opinion).
More than 20 small dogs are getting the care they need after being found in several rural areas of southern Ontario.
The Cambridge & District Humane Society says many of the dogs were in heartbreaking condition, with open wounds, severe matting, extreme fear, and a contagious skin disease called sarcoptic mange.
The dogs are now with Mattie's Place (thanks for stepping up guys) and receiving veterinary care to figure out the next steps for their recovery.
PAWS has been notified, and anyone with information about what happened is asked to call 1-833-926-4625

Luke & Rae: Toronto police intercepted another drone near the FIFA Fan Fest at Fort York on Sunday night. This is the 14th such incident since the World Cup started.
The area surrounding Toronto Stadium, the FIFA Fan Fest and Centennial Park (where a practice pitch is located) have all been deemed no fly zones through the entire World Cup.
Police say that there are no exceptions, and even youths will be charged.
I wonder if these people had the drones returned, or is it a use it and loose it situation?

Luke & Rae: Would you still go to this wedding?
This guy was planning to go to his childhood best friend’s destination wedding, but his wife was uninvited about 6 weeks out.
Here’s part of his story.

“AITA for refusing to attend my childhood best friend's destination wedding after they uninvited my wife?
A year ago, my best friend invited both my wife and me to his destination wedding, assuring us that everything except airfare would be covered. Over the past year, that invitation was confirmed multiple times, so we booked flights, took PTO, and spent money preparing for the trip.
Then, just 6 weeks before the wedding, he told me my wife had been cut from the guest list due to "capacity issues." Apparently, other guests were also being asked to pay for accommodations or were being uninvited altogether.
When I asked how they could have oversold a venue they already knew the capacity for, he refused to give a clear answer and said it was their wedding and their decision. I agreed it was their choice—but changing plans after guests spent money and made commitments felt incredibly disrespectful.
I never demanded they reinvite my wife. I simply told him that if she wasn't welcome, I wouldn't be attending either.
Now they're saying I'm overreacting and making a bigger deal out of it than anyone else.”
