SPRING IS COMING... So protect your home from water.
Here are some suggestions to hopefully prevent moisture from entering your home...
*Make sure the snow is not against the outside walls of your home. Shove or shovel it away.
*Keep the down spouts clear and pointing away from the house and driveway.
*Make sure there is a pathway to the storm drains for the melting snow to follow away from your home (and your neighbors.)
*Watch for and help the person on your street who can't take care of these things themselves. You and they will be happy you did.
* Be diligent in checking your walls, floors and basement for any signs of moisture or cracks in the foundation and call me if you notice anything. I will be happy to help get it repaired if that is what it needs.
* Keep strong and be a Blessing to everyone you meet. :)
How will this cold weather affect your foundation? Hopefully not at all but when concrete contracts and expands that is when we see the cracks more often. The problem is not the crack... it is the water coming into your basement when the snow melts. Call me if you need an opinion. I can usually look after you in a day or two.
It is too cold for water to run into basements these days. BUT Oh wait... It will get warmer ... that is OK I will be able to help.
