More than 320 young women joined the Jill of All Trades event at the Conestoga Skilled Trades Campus in Cambridge on May 27 for hands-on workshops led by faculty and female industry mentors. The day-long event is designed to help young women in Grades 9-12 understand the potential of a skilled trades career. Participants joined from 12 school boards across Southwestern Ontario and were supported by volunteers drawn from industry partners, faculty and graduates, who tried their hand at the basics of the trades taught at Conestoga in the construction, industrial and motive power sectors.

Conestoga students earned national recognition at the Skills Canada National Competition (SCNC) 2026 in Toronto from May 27-30, bringing home four medals across multiple skilled trade categories.
Hosted annually, SCNC is the only national, multi-trade and technology event for students and apprentices in the country. This year, the event welcomed more than 500 participants from across the country to compete for the title of national champion in more than 40 skills areas.

Conestoga culinary and baking students at Bloom restaurant helped prepare 2,000 portions of vegetarian chili as part of this year’s La Tablée des Chefs initiative, which mobilizes teachers and culinary students to help combat food insecurity in communities across Canada.
Around 1,600 portions were donated to the Cambridge Food Bank, with the remaining meals distributed to students at Conestoga’s Kitchener - Doon and Waterloo campuses through Bloom restaurant and Conestoga Students Inc. (CSI).

The Pride flag has been raised at all Conestoga campuses and sites in honour of Pride Month.
Recognized internationally in June, Pride Month provides an opportunity to celebrate, acknowledge and support the diversity, experiences and contributions made by 2SLGBTQIA+ students, employees and community members at the college.

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, providing an opportunity to recognize, honour and learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.
In 2026, Canadians are encouraged to get involved and show support by engaging with Indigenous stories, traditions and cultures; exploring the past and how it shapes the present; and learning more about present-day communities.

Student projects from 20 programs across the schools of Engineering & Technology and Applied Computer Science & Information Technology were on display at Tech Showcase to determine the recipients of the college’s MasterCraft Award.
Hosted at the Cambridge - Fountain Street campus on April 28, the biannual event features best-of-program final-year projects. Students are on hand to explain and demonstrate their work to a panel of industry representatives who judge based on innovation, creativity, skill and quality.

The 16th annual traditional Pow Wow hosted by Be-Dah-Bin Gamik, Indigenous Services at Conestoga, at the Kitchener - Doon campus drew close to 5,500 community members to celebrate cultures Indigenous to Canada, and many more who watched the livestream online.
Sponsored by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC), the all-day event featured drumming, singing and dancing, guest speakers and sacred fire.

Graduating students from Conestoga’s Advertising and Marketing Communications program developed comprehensive communications and marketing strategies for Instrumental Inc., a non-profit organization based in Kitchener. The organization helps young musicians access music education and provides the instruments, mentorship and opportunities they need to develop their talent.
