Dr. Still, the founder of Osteopathy, did something unheard of when opening his new school in 1892: he decided to accept women and men equally, which was unimaginable at the time. His actions allowed women to thrive in Osteopathy, and today on International Women’s Day, we celebrate all of the incredible women working in the field.
This year's International Women’s Day theme is , and we all have a part to play in creating a gender equal world. Learn more about International Women's Day:

🦠Your lymphatic system transports fluids throughout your body and consists of lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, lymphoid organs, and collecting ducts. (Picture #2)
🦴Your lymphatic fluid drains into two lymphatic ducts which empty into the venous system just beneath your clavicle to be recycled or excreted. (Picture #3)
🫁The right lymphatic duct collects lymph from only the right half of your head and neck, right arm, and right half of your thoracic cage. The rest of your body is drained by the thoracic duct! (Picture #4)
💪🏻Your lymphatic system relies on muscular contraction and changes in pressure to flow freely & this is where osteopathic treatment comes in!
✨Short/tight muscles and lack of movement in an area can hinder flow. Addressing your tissues to remove restrictions, increasing range of motion in joints and soft tissues, and utilizing rhythmic techniques during treatment can help your body’s systems work optimally!

Have you been wondering what an initial assessment and treatment involves?
Once you have booked your first appointment you will be emailed the health history intake form which you can fill out and sign electronically. It is important to disclose all of your medical history (yes - even an injury when you were 15 years old matters!).
During your first appointment we will discuss the following:
▫️Your health history and the reason(s) you are seeking treatment
▫️Explanation of what osteopathic treatment is and the goals of treatment
▫️What you can expect after your treatment
▫️Opportunities to ask questions and obtain your consent
Following this, the assessment and treatment begins!
