I have been asking for help a lot lately, testing out the strength and depth of my support webs.

And yet...

I audaciously ask again!

When finances are tight, I find myself questioning over and over again what to prioritize and what I can/cannot do without. It is so easy to criticize others' financial choices and sometimes mine should be criticized. Maybe we would make very different choices.

Thankfully, I am resourceful and have found ways to trade, volunteer or share energy where I can. Thankfully, I am able to receive offerings and flexibility (even when it is hard and impacts other people's livelihoods). Thankfully, I am able to slowly keep cutting costs that don't feel aligned so I can prioritize the most important parts of life. Thankfully, I have good people in my life that trust I will share my future abundances.

I came to terms with not participating in this year. I am not one for the city, crowds or loud spaces. I thought I could do without, and then an early registration notification popped up, and I had to. Maybe it was my ADHD, hormones or the urgency of trans rights being rolled back.

How much of an impact will it really have? Even a small one, could make a major difference. As q***r people, we have to protect each other, we have to support each other.

If you are invested in protecting q***r and trans folks, will you consider donating??

I also highly recommend checking out as a more local, grassroots option.

Donate (time, money, energy, love) all year for q***rs!!

Evidence of Winter thawing and Spring rain stopping me (literally) in my tracks as I attempt to hike parts of the Walter Bean trail.

What are you ready to get back into?
What would you like to pause?
Do you want to move through or turn back and re-evaluate?
Are you content with exactly where and who you are?
Are there areas where you would like to start fresh with a clean slate?

To get clearer about our direction, sometimes we need to simplify and go back to the beginning to re-discover our path.

I want to have my path all planned out but that doesn't help me to adapt and adjust to the changing conditions we don't have control over. We need to practice distress tolerance.

Let's explore the concept of simplicity in movement, breath and why we choose to move and think in the ways that we do. Let's have fun exploring the basic components of yoga.

🌈Rainbow Restorative Yoga is an affinity space for 2SLGBTQIA+ community to land and find rest together. Restorative yoga is a practice of resting in comfortable, supported poses with props such as bolsters and blankets. These shapes can help the body, mind, and breath to calm and relax. Led by a q***r-identified teacher, this class is an opportunity for slowing down, deep rejuvenation, and self-care.

Please note, this class takes place in our 3rd floor studio. Please save your spot in advance!

After the teacher’s fee, any additional proceeds from the class will be donated to SPECTRUM.

Finishing up 2025 in one of my favourite places, Huron Natural Area.

Perfect amount of snow for trekking.
Perfect place for gazing up with amazement at the trees.
Perfect space for my grief to spread out.

Shout out to my other favourite nature places, Lakeside Park and Walter Bean near Doon Valley.
They both set me free and tether me to this human existence.

May your 2026 be filled with more beavers (and/or woods)!!

Nourishing fall walks to enjoy the transition of the season.
Gawking with wonder and awe at the gorgeous earth around me.
Feeling cozy with warm coats, crunchy leaves, the sounds of water rushing and squirrels darting in and out, stashing nuts.
Nature teaches me yoga everyday.
It reminds me how I show up in the world is yoga.
Let's squeeze out the juice, every ounce of richness, not to extract but to savour.
Let's practice joy as an act of replenishment.
Let's allow 5-10 minutes of rest, joy, play to fuel us for hours.
Let's move to remember we all ebb and flow, shift and scurry.
Let's pause.
Let's begin again.

October movement options 🍂

Fall is gorgeous as the weather slowly shifts. I'm noticing subtle changes in my routine. Darkness arriving earlier. Not biking quite as late. Noticing smaller details like where the sunlight hits the trees and the sensation of its warmth on my skin. I'm noticing the shift in colours and leaves falling each day. I'm giving extra attention to my joints who work so hard to help me move throughout my day. Returning to the basic stretches like cat cow before bed. I'm slowing down more easily. Going to bed earlier. When I'm resting, I notice the shifts that make me more comfortable. Let the endless possibilities fill this field.

I'm teaching the following classes:

🍎Thursday, October 2
5:45- 6:45 pm Slow Flow
Rejuvenating joints
Sky studio

🎃Thursday, October 9
7:30- 8:45 pm Restorative
Subtle shifts and adaptations

**New** I will be subbing with KO Yoga more often

What subtle shifts do you notice in you or the environment as you adapt to Fall??

I fixed it!!

So so grateful for David and friends like who helped me fix my bike!

About a month ago, riding back from the farmer's market, my back tire got a hole and was flat almost instantly. I had been warned this might happen since my bike is almost 20 years old and the tires started to show signs of cracking.

I took a few weeks to mourn the loss
-this beast was my ride to and from school, got me to work for 5 am shifts and took me on countless adventures like the Cambridge to Paris trail. I finally felt ready to let go today. I thought I would have to get a new bike or go without but after a quick inspection, I learned it just needed new tires and a new tube. It may have taken us a couple hours, but we did it. Will it last 20 more years? Likely no, but I'd be happy with even a couple.

I am so impressed by folks who can fix s**t and now I can be impressed with myself for learning something new and prolonging the life of my bike.

TLDR: It was worth the literal grease and sweat. 💪💪💦 🥵

I've learned SO much from Leena, Emma, Leslie, Nicole and Carla!! I've learned a lot about how to facilitate groups/discussions, mobility, the importance of recognizing different nervous system states, how to empower others, somatic movement and ways to acknowledge and disrupt racism.

If you're curious about yoga and want to explore the history, deepen your practice, or learn the ins and outs of teaching, their YTT is an amazing opportunity to learn.

Bonus: They also offer scholarships for folks who find the cost inaccessible.

I haven't taken this specific training myself but I'm happy to chat about my experiences with The Branches and/or the folks you'd be learning from.

So grateful to share space/cross paths with these folks!
