Some of the QueensU Student Affairs offices are teaming up to offer a free nature walk for students at Douglas Fluhrer Park. Join us on July 13 @ 10am as we will be guided by an expert from Turtles Kingston to learn about the turtles local to the region, about their ecosystem, and how best to support them.

Register to come spot some turtles in downtown Kingston and learn about the work Turtles Kingston does to protect them.

This event is free and open to Queen’s students and their families. Kids are welcome!

There will be a few temporary changes to our hours over the next couple weeks.

We will be open June 22-26 - including on Friday from 9-4pm! Lunch will be served.
We are hosting our Grad Tea this week so there will be photography happening.

We will be closed on Monday June 29, Wednesday July 1, and Thursday July 2.
We are OPEN Tuesday June 30, but lunch will not be served. The kitchen will be open, and students are welcome to make coffee, tea, toast, etc/

We will resume our regular Summer Hours on July 6.

Thursday nights throughout the summer, Springer Market Square is transformed into an outdoor movie theatre, with films projected on a giant inflatable screen. Bring your friends and family, grab a blanket or lawn chairs, and settle in for an unforgettable movie experience. The first movie is But I'm a Cheerleader on June 18.

Drop in to the Ban Righ Centre Lounge on Thursday afternoons for some casual knitting, crocheting, or stitching and conversations. All skill levels welcome. Bring your own project or if you are interested in learning to knit, email [email protected] in advance to schedule a mini-lesson.

The next session will be tomorrow, Thursday June 18 at 1pm
Due to our Grad Tea, there will not be a Stitch and Sip on June 25.

Looking for something to do with the family this weekend?
Go and enjoy the 21st annual Skeleton Park Arts Festival, a non-profit annual summer solstice celebration, on June 19-21, 2026. This free, family-oriented event takes place in McBurney Park and around the surrounding neighbourhood.

This year’s festival includes a diverse range of artists such as local singer-songwriter, Piner and Hannah Georgas, Raging Asian Women (RAW) Taiko Drummers, Ethiopian/Eritrean R&B Soul artist Witch Prophet, alternative rock band Forty Seven Teeth, Voices Rock Medicine Kingston, Birdbone Theatre, Carlo, Miranda Ceara, Callia Silverton, Abby Nowakowski, among many others.
