630,000 Canadians surprised by big cheques – it's not a scam Some 630,000 Canadians are getting quite a surprise this month. Cheques worth thousands of dollars are showing up in mailboxes just in time for the holidays, and it's the real deal.

Due to the heavy winds on Saturday there will be a big backlog of claims and it may slow down the process. Take a bunch of pictures of the damage and if there is damage to your roof try to get it patched or tarped to mitigate your loss. The claims adjuster will get to you as soon as they can.
