Update on Parcel Services Available at The Computer Place

As many of you may know, we are now offering parcel drop-off and pickup services here at The Computer Place.

After careful consideration, we have chosen to keep our pricing simple and transparent by offering a flat-rate fee of $2 per parcel (up to 50 lbs) rather than separating charges for receiving, handling, storage, and processing.

For Purolator parcels, this same flat-rate fee will apply while our agreement with Purolator is being finalized.

For parcels over 50 lbs, our standard fee is $5 per parcel. Due to limited storage space, please contact us in advance to make arrangements for larger items. Without prior arrangements, we may not be able to accept these parcels.

To help us provide efficient and reliable service, please follow the guidelines below:

📦 Dropping Off Parcels

✅ Ready to Ship: Packages must be securely taped, sealed, and properly packaged before drop-off.
✅ Clear Labels: Shipping labels or QR codes must be clearly visible and easy to scan.
❌ Prohibited Items: We cannot accept hazardous materials, illegal goods, or improperly packaged liquids.
🧾 Receipt Confirmation: Please wait while our staff scans your package and provides your drop-off receipt.

🚚 Picking Up Parcels

📞 Contact Information: When shipping your parcel, please provide the sender with your phone number. This information will appear on the shipping label and allows us to contact you when your parcel arrives.
🪪 Photo ID Required: A valid government-issued photo ID must be presented when collecting any package.
👤 Matching Names: The name on your identification must match the name listed on the parcel.
📱 Tracking Information: Please have your tracking number, barcode, or pickup notification ready.
👥 Picking Up for Someone Else: Anyone collecting a parcel on behalf of another person must provide the tracking number, a copy of the recipient’s ID, and written authorization from the recipient.
⏳ Holding Period: Packages will be held for 7 business days. Unclaimed parcels will be returned to the sender.

Standard Parcel Service Rates

• Parcels up to 50 lbs: $2 each
• Parcels over 50 lbs: $5 each (prior arrangements required)
