Lea's Lessons
Lea's Lessons is a private, in-home, one-on-one piano lesson studio. We are competitively priced and geared towards each individual student's learning habits.
Lea's Lessons offers private one-on-one piano lessons at competitive prices. Located on Main Street, South Mountain, Ontario, my main focus is teaching in the way the student learns, adapting my teaching method to best aid the student. Many different lesson slots are available to suit your schedule. Call or message me today to chat about what is best for you or your child. :)

Learning and playing music is so well-rounded!
Hello Lea's Lessons Students and Clients!
Today is the first day of the "Covid Passport" Rollout.
As such, I feel a notice on behalf of Lea's Lessons is appropriate.
After review of the Q&As provided by the health unit, I have come to the conclusion that my business is *NOT* one of the establishments that will require proof of vaccination or proof of identity. Since most of my students are under the age of 12 anyway, there is little cause for concern, but for those of you who do fall under the umbrella of vaccine eligibility, I wanted to lay any potential anxieties to rest.
Regardless of policy, however, I am still committed to the safety of my students and families. Thus:
1. I am still leaving a 15-minute buffer between students of differing households to allow for minimal exposure between families. Please do not show up for your lesson more than 5 minutes prior to your start time so as to give me a chance to properly sanitize and to allow any students before you adequate time to leave the premises.
2. Workspaces and high-touch areas (such as doorknobs, piano benches, etc) are sanitized before each student arrives (including between lessons).
3. Masks are to be worn both by myself and my students due to the fact that proper distancing is not possible for lessons.
4. As a general rule - pandemic or not - please refrain from attending lessons in person if you are not feeling well. My rule of thumb has always been "if you're fit for school, you're fit for lessons" - with the opposite also being true. If you are unable to attend either school or your workplace due to illness, please do not come to your lesson. Lea's Lessons does not charge for missed sessions due to illness, and any pre-paid lessons will be credited on your following invoice.
5. While I am not asking for vaccination status of my patrons, I myself have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 for the protection of those who are not.
6. Parents dropping off/picking up their children for lessons are encouraged to wait outside.
While Lea's Lessons does still maintain its "Open-Door Policy," where parents may drop in and watch the lesson at any time, it is encouraged at this time that drop-ins be kept to a minimum. I do have a completed and up-to-date Vulnerable Sector's Check and welcome any questions you may have regarding lessons or policies in place.
I look forward to our continued time in-person together and hope you are all healthy and thriving :)
With love and kindness,
Lea
It's officially the first day of school. You know what that means....
WE'RE BACK!!!
Lea's Lessons is excited to welcome back students next week, as well as any new students interested in learning piano.
Be looking in your e-mail inboxes for a welcome back message from Lea.

A little Monday Optimism :)
We're baaaaack!!!! π΅πΆβοΈππΉ
I just got off the phone with the municipality and I am once again permitted to open my doors! :)
I have missed you all so much!
As before the lockdown, I will continue to keep 15-minute buffers between scheduled lessons to ensure ample time to clean/sanitize our workspaces and high-touch areas and to lower the likelihood of households' contact with one-another.
As we cannot keep a 2-metre distance, masks must be worn at all times.
I will be touching base with each of my students, but feel free to reach out to me as well.
Keep warm and I'm looking forward to seeing you all again this week! :)

Good afternoon everyone and happy winter solstice!
As I'm sure you're all aware by now, Premier Ford has announced another lockdown.
That being said, for the week of January 4, there will be no in-person lessons, and depending on how this lockdown will continue, this may extend further. Any student who would like to take their lesson virtually is welcome to do so, either by facebook video, zoom, or facetime. Anyone who is not comfortable doing so may cancel their lessons with no fee and we will resume once the lockdown lifts or if you become comfortable with virtual lessons at a later date.
For the purpose of keeping things as simple as possible, I will hold off on sending January invoices until matters become more clear on when the lockdown will subside, or once I have spoken to you individually to determine how you would like to proceed.
Thank you for your patience in this matter and hopefully we will be back in person sooner rather than later.
Blessings to you all and I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and Happiest of New Years!
Lea
Attention students and families:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, in-person start dates will be delayed by one week.
Lessons will resume for the fall semester next week.
I will be in touch with confirmed students personally as well.
Thank you for your patience.
Lea
This is it folks! September 1st!
Thank you for all my returning students who have contacted me to confirm your time slots this fall. I have sent a follow-up email for those of you who have not yet done so.
In the interest of reserving priority placing to returning students, I am not accepting new students until next week. At that time, if you or someone you know is interested in piano lessons, feel free to send me a message and I can answer any questions you may have.
Enjoy your last week (or two for some of you) of summer!
I hope to see you all again soon :)

Announcement for Fall 2020!
My home-studio will once again be operational and lessons will commence right on time in September. To operate in accordance with Health Unit standards, 15-minute intervals will be scheduled between lessons to limit contact with other households and to allow for adequate sanitization and cleaning in between students.
Hand sanitizer will be available at each work space. Masks will be mandatory (some exceptions will apply- please contact me if you have concerns) due to the unavoidable closeness of our lessons, and will be provided should you/your child not have one or forget it at home.
I will offer as many slots as possible, though this does mean space for new students is limited. I welcome back all returning tutoring and piano students, however, I am only able to welcome new piano students at this time. Hopefully as time progresses I will be able to take on new tutoring students once again, and I will release a statement at that time.
I expect availability to be limited, so send me a message as soon as possible to secure your spot, if you are interested in piano for this year.
Lastly, I am unable to continue the reduced social-distanced rate offered for virtual lessons in the spring, but please rest assured that my rates are *not* increasing from last year's prices. This means that tutoring rates will continue to be $30/hr standard rate/ $25/hr family rate (2+ hours/week), and piano will continue at $20/half-hour lesson.
Please feel free to send me a message or give a quick phone call for any questions or concerns you may have and remember to book your lesson times soon before they are all gone!
I'm looking forward to finally seeing you all in person once again!
Cheers!
Lea
