We're heading to Regina! 🍁
Outside The Box BC is a one-of-a-kind partnership between Kamloops, Nanaimo, and Penticton — three welcoming BC cities that work together to make conference planning simple, cost-efficient, and genuinely memorable. With one RFP, funding support, and three vibrant downtowns to choose from, we make it easy for planners to discover what BC has to offer beyond Vancouver.
This year, we're proud to be part of CanSPEP 2026 in Regina — joining a community of independent event entrepreneurs from across the country. You'll find us exhibiting on the tradeshow floor and hosting a breakfast, so come say hello and let's talk about your next event.
We can't wait to connect! 👋

Should attendees plan an extra day in Kamloops? We think yes, and here's why. 🍷
Beyond the meetings and events, the Kamloops Wine Trail offers some of BC’s most scenic and underrated tasting experiences. From the award-winning Pinot Noir at Privato Vineyard & Winery to the stunning river valley views at Monte Creek Winery, an extra 24 hours here is a total game-changer.
The best part? You don’t even have to worry about the logistics. We have 4 guided tour providers ready to lead the way:
🚐 TasteFull Excursions
🍷 DiVine Tours
🚌 Boogie Bus Shuttle
🚐 Sun Star Shuttle

The speaking notes and fireside chats can take a pause for an afternoon. We promise it's worth it. 🐻
The BC Wildlife Park offers guided group tours designed specifically for events and conventions. It’s the ultimate way to give your guests a true taste of British Columbia wildlife.
Curious but don't know where to start? We’ve been there.
Message us and Archana, our Business Events Specialist, will get back to you to help make the magic happen!

Venue Spotlight: Tk̓emlúps te Secwépemc Powwow Arbour
There are event spaces, and then there are spaces that carry meaning. Set along the South Thompson River, just 10 minutes from downtown and uptown Kamloops hotels is the Powwow Arbour.
The Arbour is home to the Kamloopa Pow Wow, one of the largest celebrations of Indigenous culture and heritage in Western Canada.
Covered seating offers some shelter, but the Arbour is an outdoor venue at heart - open to the sky, the river breeze, and the elements. There is no other space like it in Kamloops.

We love planner math. 🧮
The Destination BC Industry Dashboard put the provincial ADR at $230 in March 2026. Kamloops comes in at $133.
That ~$97 per night room advantage isn't just a saving, it's your budget for a 5-course wine pairing, a high-impact keynote speaker, or an exclusive off-site experience your delegates will talk about long after checkout.
With 3,000+ guest rooms, Kamloops gives planners the room to dream bigger without the budget pressure.

If you're already thinking about 2026 and 2027 events - great. You're our kind of planner. 🗓️
Kamloops, Nanaimo and Penticton are BC's meeting sweet spots with walkable downtowns, mid-sized conference venues, authentic local experiences, and funding support to help make your event a reality.
And the best part? You only need to submit one RFP to explore all three.
While everyone else is still scrambling to lock in big-city dates, you could already have three vibrant BC cities working for you.
Even Chris Pratt is a fan. 🦕
While filming Jurassic World Dominion near Kamloops in 2020, Pratt posted from his vehicle to share just how much he loved the city. And honestly? We're not surprised. Kamloops has been turning heads on screen for years. Check out some of the other buzzworthy films and TV series shot right here in our backyard. 🎬

We're rolling out the welcome mat! 🎉
The Outdoor Recreation Council of BC Conference is touching down in Kamloops from May 20–22, hosted at the TRU Conference Centre.
Welcome to Kamloops. We're glad you're here.

When your conference venue is steps from a free riverfront skating loop, that's not a coincidence, that's destination development. ⛸️
This past winter, the City of Kamloops opened a skating loop right at Riverside Park in the heart of downtown, just minutes from major venues like the Sandman Centre. With skate rentals on-site from Okanagan Affordable Rentals, delegates could lace up without any extra planning on your end. Kamloops keeps finding new ways to make your event experience memorable.
