Meet Tara, officially our HR Manager, unofficially the person who makes everything more fun.
From organizing office events to keeping the energy alive around the workplace, Tara has a way of turning any gathering into something worth showing up for. And if you’ve ever had her home-cooked food at one of those events, you already know she doesn’t do anything halfway. 😄
What you might not know is that Tara is a Red Seal Chef, also a seriously talented singer and performer, and a member of the InVerse. Think we’re exaggerating? Just ask Lzzy Hale from Halestorm for a comparison.
Happy Birthday, Tara! We’re so glad to have you. Thanks for making this place a lot more fun. ❤️

Here's a fun fact for you: Welding is everywhere.
From the bridges we drive across and the buildings we work in, to pipelines, vehicles, and heavy equipment, much of the infrastructure we rely on every day has one thing in common: a welder helped build it.
It's easy to overlook just how much of our world is connected by welds. In many cases, the strength, safety, and longevity of a structure depend on the quality of the work behind it.
At CEC, our welders help bring projects to life through custom fabrication, structural steel work, bridge components, and more. Their craftsmanship plays an important role in creating the infrastructure and equipment that keep projects moving.

We recently completed a short but interesting project involving the disassembly and removal of a decommissioned synchronous condenser and its associated auxiliary systems in BC.
Working alongside our great client, our scope focused on providing crane support for the lifting and transport operations required to remove major equipment from the site. The overall work involved dismantling heavy mechanical and electrical components, safely removing hydrogen cooling and heat-exchange systems, and transporting equipment using cranes, hydraulic jacks, custom support systems, and rail-mounted carts.
Although brief in duration, the project required detailed sequencing, engineered lifting methods, and careful coordination throughout.
A solid example of the kind of complex industrial support work our crews are proud to be part of.

One of our LTM1120's was recently supporting at the Gladwin Culvert installation project on a crazy steep slope in the Fraser Canyon.
Although there were overhead powerlines and the road had to be rerouted after we helped them launch the temporary bridge, this scenario was a bit of a special one. Working flat sticked (yes on a Friday also!) and having to scope the boom under load to maintain clearance from the temp bridge is not an every day occurrence. worked with us to build a custom crane pad with the perfect elevation in mind to perform these tasks and not slow the project down. Hats off to Hugh, Jeff, and Lucas for planning this with and executing perfectly without incident and in a timely manner!
Not your every day crane operation or set up but a good example of what great collaboration, planning, and equipment can accomplish!
Have a great weekend everyone!

We recently installed a new warning line system using a mix of vertical and inclined 8” helical screw piles to secure the wind line in Little Fort, BC.
The real test? Geometry.
Our crew had to perfectly mirror the angles of the existing system while integrating a new sheave to make cable tensioning a breeze.
It’s a high-stakes “match game” where precision alignment ensures the crossing stays secure against the elements.
Team CEC for the win!😍
