Sure, there’s lots of challenging policy files impacting mineral exploration in B.C.

But it’s so much better to tackle them with capable colleagues like Jack Middleton … and if you have some fun along the way, even better! Great day of meetings in Victoria.

Honoured to join hundreds of friends and community members in Vancouver earlier this week for ACTION West, a wonderful evening hosted by CJPAC.

Huge congrats to Lana Pulver who was celebrated with the 2026 CJPAC Impact Award.

Thank you to everyone for the warm welcome. I’m proud to stand with the community.

For Marilyne Lacasse, Senior Geologist at FPX Nickel Corp, mineral exploration isn’t just a career — it’s the foundation of the economy.

From the electronics in your pocket to the energy systems powering our future, it all starts in the field with explorers.

She’s one of the many incredible explorers out there finding the minerals Canada needs to bolster our national and industrial sovereignty, stand strong with our allies, and drive economic prosperity for future generations.

It’s a generational opportunity. The question is: will we seize it?

Brirish Columbia has the minerals the world needs — for defence, clean energy, and the technologies that will define the next century.

I joined Deirdra Tindale on The Mining & Minerals Show to talk about the challenges and opportunities facing mineral exploration - and why this moment matters more than ever for Canada.🇨🇦⛏️🏔️

BC has what it takes to be a global critical minerals powerhouse.

But potential alone doesn’t attract investment - certainty does.

Premier Eby’s decision to not bring forward promised amendments to DRIPA until the fall is very disappointing. For mineral explorers, timing matters. Capital moves quickly, and uncertainty slows everything down.

Right now, explorers should be in the field, advancing the projects that will power Canada’s future, not waiting on government to deliver on its commitments.

If we’re serious about responsible resource development, we need a policy environment that is clear, timely, and reliable.

Want a career that pays great, fuels innovation, and shapes Canada’s future?

Look no further than mineral exploration and mining.

From high-paying jobs, to cutting-edge technology, to working outdoors in some of the most incredible places in the world.

The opportunities right now, especially for young Canadians, are unmatched.

👉 Trust your gut.
👉 Take smart risks.
👉 Embrace an industry that is building the future in real time.

That was my closing message during my conversation with Stuart McNish on his podcast Careers That Matter.

We also covered my own career journey, from entrepreneur and tech CEO, to MLA and B.C. cabinet minister, to now serving as President & CEO of AME.

Grateful for the conversation, and excited about what’s ahead for the next generation. 🇨🇦⛏️🏔️

Every room. Every conversation. One clear message: There are no mines without mineral exploration.

Today, I connected with incredible people on a conference panel, behind a podcast microphone, and in a series of meetings.

And one theme kept coming up -
the urgency and opportunity to unlock BC’s critical minerals potential for future generations.

And right now, we have a window to get it right if we work together.

Minerals needed for Canada’s defence requirements and economic sovereignty won’t extract themselves … and explorers need the right policy conditions to find them.

At KEG 2026 today in Kamloops, I shared an update on AME’s ongoing advocacy around access to land, claim staking, permitting, and industry confidence.

These aren’t just policy issues. They’re the foundation that determines whether Canada can deliver critical minerals needed at home and for our allies.🇨🇦⛏️🏔️

Canada’s critical minerals aren’t just an economic opportunity - they’re a matter of global security.

Great interview on Conversations Live with Stuart McNish to talk about our golden opportunity in mineral exploration / mining, and what we must do to seize it.

BC is sitting on the minerals the world urgently needs. Demand is surging. Supply chains are being restructured. The window to lead is open right now.

But without a faster, more predictable permitting process, we risk letting this golden opportunity slip through our fingers.
