What a difference a few days make! Just over a week ago we had perfect ski conditions in the Coquihalla. Over 30 cm of new snow, -5 to -10 Celsius, very light winds and good visibility. By the end of the weekend, we were back in the soup. Oh well, thanks for the great skiing, guys.

Today, we celebrate International Women’s Day and the achievements of the incredible women who are a part of the BLBCA.
The backcountry industry includes women who are lodge owners, guides, custodians, cooks, administrative staff and many other roles. Each of these women enriches the experience of those they interact with and work with.

Hmm, given the recent weather, the Kamloops Search and Rescue crew might be my last AST course this winter. Not sure yet, but +12 Celsius today isn't encouraging. 😞
Thanks to KSAR and their team.

Finally, 2 weekends in a row of pretty decent backcountry skiing for our AST students. Felt like we earned it.
Keep the snow coming.

Well, the sun was shining, so that's nice. Students for our AST 1 course were awesome. The snow, well, there are the current snow conditions. Hmm. 🤔
Thanks to Matthias and the crew at McSporties for their help. 🙏

Well, we aren't getting much, if any, new snow in the Kamloops/Sun Peaks region. Obviously, this isn't what we would prefer, but our AST program is rolling along with some sunny weather and keen students. Thanks to all.

Well, for the first time, I actually caught a glimpse of Tod Mtn this winter. It has been pretty clagged in. Another fun group for our AST 1 weekend course. Thanks for being such an enjoyable group to spend time with.

Foggy day for a Companion Rescue Course with a gang from BC Parks. Despite the lack of snow, it was a day well spent honing everyone's companion rescue skills.
Thanks for the pics, Andrea. 🙏

A few memories from ski touring trips to Golden Alpine Holidays many years ago, but timeless from a memory standpoint.
