How to get the group to finally commit to the golf trip:
1. Stop asking “what do you guys want to do?”
Open-ended group chats are where golf trips go to die. Instead of throwing it out to everyone and hoping for a decision, come in with a plan. People are much more likely to react to options than build the trip from scratch.
2. Give them 2 date options, not 12
Too many choices slows everything down. Pick two realistic options and let the group choose from there. This makes it easier for everyone to respond quickly and gets you closer to locking something in.
3. Suggest mid-week if you want better availability
If your group actually wants this trip to happen, flexibility helps. Mid-week travel can make it easier to find better tee times, smoother hotel options, and less crowded rounds. Sometimes the best trip isn’t the Friday-Saturday one everyone asks for first.
4. Pick a package instead of building from scratch
Don’t make the group debate every course, hotel, and detail. Start with a package that fits your crew and go from there. It makes the planning process feel way easier and gives everyone something concrete to say yes to.
5. Tell everyone to send the deposit before the group chat dies again
