Across BC with TCS, fun summer activities are well underway!
Last week Penticton’s day program packed up and spent an amazing few days at Agur Lake! Agur Lake is only 20 minutes south of Summerland and is BC’s only barrier free wilderness campground. The cabins are fully equipped for everyone. The group enjoy lots of hiking, fishing , bird and squirrel watching and of course camp fire songs and wiener roasts.
It may have been this groups first stay at Agur Lake, but the consensus is that it definitely won’t be their last. The team hopes to make this an annual trip.

Today, June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day is a day recognizing and celebrating the cultures and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Indigenous peoples of Canada.
The day was first celebrated in 1996, after it was proclaimed that year by then Governor General of Canada Roméo LeBlanc, to be celebrated annually on 21 June. This date was chosen for many reasons, including its cultural significance as the Summer solstice, and the fact that it is a day on which many Indigenous peoples and communities traditionally celebrate their heritage.
