Some people say they love Jesus but can't stand the organized church. Others are frustrated that their church never seems to get organized at all. In this week's message, Pastor Josh addresses both — and shows us why & how the church governs herself actually matters eternally.

From Acts 6, 1 Corinthians 6, and 2 Corinthians 2, this sermon makes the case that the democratic process of the local church isn't just pragmatic — it's preparation. We are apprentice kings and queens, being trained by the Holy Spirit to reign with Christ. Every vote we take together is practice for the throne.

This is an especially relevant word for anyone wrestling with questions about church structure, congregational authority, and what it means to seek God's will together as a people.
Watch, share with your church family, and let us know in the comments — what stood out to you most?

This Sunday at First Baptist Church of Kamloops, we have the joy of celebrating the baptisms of Drake Bergen and Megan Tanner!

Baptism is a beautiful picture of what God has already done in the heart — buried with Christ and raised to walk in newness of life. As Drake and Megan go public with their faith, we welcome them as beloved members of the family of God, adopted by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Come rejoice with us as we witness these declarations of faith. All are welcome!

Celebrating New Life in Christ: The Baptism of Jordan & Megan Tanner

We are thrilled to announce the upcoming baptisms of Jordan and Megan Tanner at First Baptist Church of Kamloops!

Jordan will be baptized this Sunday, May 17, during our 11:00 AM worship service, and Megan will follow the next week on Sunday, May 24.

Baptism is one of the most beautiful moments in the life of a local church — a public declaration of an inward reality, as a believer identifies with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is an act of obedience, a testimony of faith, and a joyful confession before the body that says, "I belong to Him."

We invite our church family and anyone in the community to come witness and celebrate what God is doing in the lives of this couple. Come encourage Jordan and Megan as they take this step of faith together.

This Sunday, we rejoice as Maksim Pastoor publicly professes his faith in Jesus Christ through the waters of baptism! What a privilege it is to witness a young man declare before the congregation that Jesus is his Lord and Savior. In baptism, we don't just observe an ordinance — we welcome a brother into the family of God.

Maksim, as you rise from the watery depths of immersion, we receive you with open arms and grateful hearts as our brother in Christ, and we commit to walking alongside you as fellow members of the church of God. To all, we encourage you to celebrate this moment of redemption with us this Lord's Day!

Good Friday at First Baptist Church - Tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM, we gather to remember the most central moment in all history—when the King of Truth stood trial before earthly powers.

Join us as Pastor Josh Claycamp unpacks and explains the profound strangeness of Jesus' witness to the truth from John 18:28–19:16. In a moment when everything seemed to be falling apart, Christ was accomplishing everything that He had promised. His testimony before Pilate reveals the truth that turns our world upside down—about power, justice, and the Kingdom of God that can never be shaken.

Join us tomorrow, at 454 Columbia Street, Kamloops, at 10:00 AM.

This Good Friday, come encounter the One who spoke truth in the face of injustice, who reigned from the cross, and who transforms our understanding of real hope.

All are welcome. Bring your family, bring your heart.
