Yesterday, Community Affairs Executive Abdus Samad Khan presented the priorities of students at TRU to the BC Committee on Finance and Government Services during consultations for the 2027 BC Budget.

Our recommendations included:
1️⃣ Maintain the domestic tuition fee cap to keep post-secondary education affordable.
2️⃣ Increase the BC Access Grant and expanding the Future Skills Grant to reduce financial barriers and student debt.
3️⃣ Provide resources to implement the recommendations of the post-secondary sector review.
4️⃣ Provide clarity and consistency in the funding model for post-secondary education across the sector.

TRUSU Representatives were happy to meet with the BC Minister of Advanced Education Jessie Sunner this week alongside TRUFA and CUPE.

Come by the TRUSU Lecture Hall tomorrow (June 10) to pick up the June Chef's Package! This month's package is chocolate chip pancakes. The event starts at 10AM and goes until we run out of packages!

Join us tomorrow at noon (June 4) for a community meal in the TRUSU Lecture Hall. This week's meal is a broccoli and cauliflower tandoori masala with rice. This meal is vegan and made without gluten.
