I have been involved with animals for over 30 years and previously bred German Shepherds, also very focused on ethics and genetics, and worked with breeders internationally. In a past career I also worked as a dog trainer and did a lot

of rescue work as well. Because of life changes and family commitments I had to step away from that 20+ years ago. Over the years I was introduced to rats and their intelligence and social/empathetic nature and value as therapy animals quickly won me over (once I got past the tails!!). I work in healthcare as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and I am a strong advocate for mental health and do feel that animals who show empathy and high emotional intelligence are valuable to help people of all ages through struggles. With the rise of everyday expenses for people, I feel that rats are a great family pet with dog-like traits at a much lower cost and lower maintenance. Inspirit Rattery was formed in 2022. My focus is on small-scale breeding as a hobby, breeding for health and temperament. I am conscious of not over-breeding and carefully screening new homes to help ensure lifetime commitment to the animal. Working with other ethical and well-established breeders - tracking genetics to work on goals, and being committed to learning. I am dedicated to promoting rats as wonderful pocket pet companions and helping to reduce the stigma surrounding them. My rats are tested negative for all zoonotic diseases to ensure no health risk to the public. This is particularly important for those with children or who are immunocompromised and to ensure no public health risk. My rattery offers a 12 month health and temperament warranty with replacement or refund, and lifetime breeder support. Inspirit Rattery is located in Kamloops, however transport may be available via ground or air, and we have references from families throughout BC, Yukon and Saskatchewan! Album update #1! Genetic odds sometimes work out great.. out of the 5 babies, 4 ended up being dwarf!

This is such a beautiful litter and babies will all be headed to other ratteries 💓

As mentioned in the private Rattery group, I will be stepping back indefinitely from breeding to take a personal break with other commitments. I am so thankful for Eversong Woods Rattery to take in some of the babies from my lines to continue to work with. I also have a local client with a lot of experience who has similar values/ethics, and she will be starting breeding with my guidance. Once she is established I will share her information and refer people to. 💓🙏🐀 until then, I will continue to update my page with current litters.
Edit to add in, i will continue to provide support for current clients. In the future if I resume breeding, will have access to my lines through these breeders ❤️🐀

Lucy x Rocky dwarf litter has arrived! 5 beans.. all healthy 💓 🐀

✅one more possible litter due in two weeks (Summer x Winter) and then have decided to take a breeding break until Spring. Family/personal commitments…
as I have mentioned in the past it is hard for breeders to take any time away as it is a 7 day a week commitment.
Eversong Woods Rattery will be taking some of my babies to continue working on the lines and thankful for their help. 🙏

Miata x Winter dwarf litter at 13 days! Since their mom is Mazda Miata… the name theme for this litter will be sports cars.. any suggestions for the list are welcomed! I will take individual pictures of them in a week when eyes are open and coats are in more 🥰🐀

Downsized a few of the holdback girls from my June litters today! The balance between keeping back for future generations, but keeping my numbers low as I want to remain small scale ☺️🐀 I have their sisters still. These little ladies will be staying local and off to a wonderful family 💓

Love this.. it’s how I started with rats… working as a psychiatric nurse at the hospital during COVID there were a lot of stressful shifts and the impact on my own mental health. Discovered how therapeutic rats were and this inspired Inspirit Rattery 💓

Dwarf litter.. not quite at the adorable stage haha, few more days!! but the little beans are all doing well 💓🐀 they will be cute when their coats come in.. varied coat types in all 6 with Harley, satin and velveteen. 🥰
