Very proud of this stair building project! Lumber milled in Valemount by Mountain Voice Soundwoods, designed and built by Dana Ruddy Construction in Jasper. They will stand for generations as a one of a kind centre piece of this beautiful home.

2016 has been a challenging year to say the least. Despite the many challenges, DRC has had our best year yet and have been privileged to have the opportunity to be a part of this incredible creative and collaborative project. It's rare these days to get to build a home from start to finish so we are very grateful for the opportunity and for the confidence the home owners continue to show in our abilities. 2016 has been warm and dry, allowing us to make quick work of the sheet metal at Pine Bungalows. Last week we completed installing 8000 sq/ft of sheet metal. It is always a good feeling to put the final piece of ridge cap on.

With our feet back on the ground, the 2x8 half log cedar siding installation has begun.

Inside, our plumbing and electrical rough-in is complete and insulation is well under way.

It's been a busy few weeks at Pine Bungalows after a big push to get the buildings up and weather proof in time for the holidays. We walked away from the site on Friday with our goal reached. All 13 cabins are framed and roofing membrane installed as well as windows in and a good portion of the interior framing complete. Now a much needed break before starting fresh in the New year! Sean Elliott, rockin towards minimal waste!

DRC has begun our second large project at Pine Bungalows, this October. With 12 Cabins completed in the spring of 2014 we are excited to be tasked with 13 new cabins to build this winter! This LEED certified project is well underway having recently completed the 13 slab on grade foundations before winter set in. We developed our own system for forming the Slabs with some creative thinking we came up with the idea of adapting ICF forms to suit our project. We cut the ICF Fox blocks webs in half and were able to pre-form al our slabs before our building permit was issued. This method saved a great deal of time, money and reduced our waste to almost nothing. It also provided the slabs with ample insulation and frost protection for our new foundations. For anyone looking to build a garage or any slab on grade foundation this is a simple and effective way to build.
