Experience something meaningful this Friday, Feb 20 (12 – 3 PM) at Wa¢kna, Bannock and Tea in Invermere — a free Heritage Week event where participants can learn from ʔAkisq̓nuk First Nation Knowledge Holders about traditional Wa¢kna (dried meat) and hear from Shuswap Knowledge Holders about medicinal teas. It’s a beautiful way to connect with local Indigenous foodways, traditions and stories through hands-on learning and shared heritage.
