The cooler is starting to fill up with some of my favorite flowers. š
This rainy weekend has been a bit dreary, but I have to admit, Iām enjoying it. After the heat, the garden really needed this rain, and I know the flowers are loving it too.
Iām sure everything will take off when the sun comes back out.

Last week I was gifted some new-to-me dahlia tubers from my lovely neighbour, who used to run a dahlia farm on the Sunshine Coast. šø
I managed to get them planted just before yesterdayās rain, and now the waiting begins.
Thereās always something special about growing a variety for the first timeāwondering what the blooms will look like, how theyāll perform, and which ones will become favourites. I canāt wait to watch these grow and bloom over the summer.

The first peony bloomed yesterday š
Those layers of petals and that smell⦠thereās just nothing like it. Looking forward to more blooming in the coming weeks.
On the weekend, it got hot and we hadnāt turned the garden sprinklers on for the year yet. Some of the plants were even starting to droop a little. After a good watering, they all stood right back up ā and this one had bloomed by morning.
Plants are amazing!

Well, we (finally!) got the garden all planted this past weekend š±
Usually weāre finished much earlier ā hardy annuals are normally in by late April and the rest by mid-May ā but life has just been extra full this spring. Between kids, activities, travel, and everything else, the garden had to wait a little longer this year.
We also decided to scale things back a bit this season. Fewer summer flowers, fewer veggies, and a little less pressure to do all the things. I have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew, so this year weāre keeping it simpler and hopefully leaving a little more room to actually enjoy it along the way.
Now comes the fun part ā watching everything grow.
Looking forward to a garden full of color, blooms, vegetables, and slow summer evenings in the months ahead.

A little flower farm update šæ
Life has been extra full lately with dance, gymnastics, baseball, camping, and all the running around that comes with bigger kids. When my kids were little, I never realized spring would actually become our busiest season š ⦠but honestly, Iām loving every minute of it.
Out in the garden, the peonies are looking incredible this year. They are absolutely thriving and getting closer every day.
The ranunculus and anemones, on the other hand⦠not so much. Iāve only had a handful of blooms so far, which is unusual for me. They can definitely be finicky flowers, and Iām guessing the wild swings in weather havenāt helped. Flower farming always keeps you humble.
Either way, there will still be beautiful flowers soon, and I truly canāt wait to share them with you again. Peony season is almost here ā and if you know me, you know theyāre my absolute favorite for good reason š¤
More flower updates to come once the peonies start to bloom.

Last week marked the end of the 3 Week Spring Subscriptions š·
but this week is a little bonus for those who bought multiple subscriptions.
How did it go so fast?
Added daffodils this week and Iām obsessed.
Such a happy addition to the bouquets!

Fresh tulips will be available in town tomorrow š·
Iāll be restocking bouquets at Made in the Mountains (across from AG Valley Foods) tomorrow (Tuesday) starting at noon.
I had such great feedback from last week ā it sounds like a lot of you are really enjoying having an in-town pickup option.
These are extra tulips from the farm, so once theyāre gone, theyāre gone.

Another day, another crate full of tulips.
While Iām not exactly loving the snow, the garden sure isāthis moisture is gold. The tulips are loving these cooler days followed by a bit of sunshine too.
Honestly, I think Iāve got some of the longest stems Iāve ever grown this year.

Okay⦠surprise š
Iāve been listening to you. I know getting out to the farm doesnāt always work ā so Iām really excited to share that Iāll now have a small number of extra bouquets available in Invermere at Made in the Mountains (across from AG Valley Foods).
So many of you have reached out over the years (and especially recently) asking for this⦠and I have a feeling these are going to go quick.
This is something new Iām trying, and honestly it feels like such a good fit. Their shop is so cute and full of local makers, growers, and artisans ā Iām really happy to have my flowers there too.
A few things to know:
⢠These are extras only ā not guaranteed every week
⢠First come, first serve
⢠Iāll drop them off Tuesdays by noon and theyāll be there until sold out
If you want to know when flowers are heading into town, watch my stories ā thatāll be the best place for updates.
And⦠weāre starting with tulips tomorrow š·
Letās see how this goes š

Week 1 of flower pickups at the Stand is done, and it finally feels like the season is officially underway. The tulips showed up all at once last weekend and I feel like I went from waiting⦠to suddenly making bouquets again overnight.
I always forget how much I love this partāhaving the Stand full again and seeing names on the list. There are so many familiar ones this year, which honestly means so much to me, and a few new ones Iām really looking forward to meeting.
Thanks for being here for another season š¤
