‘Good enough’ is something perfectionists struggle with. For a perfectionist, it's not good enough until it's perfect (and even then...what if there's still more that could be done? 😬)
Perfectionists generally (usually) put far more pressure on themselves than they need to.
As a recovering perfectionist myself, I created an affirmation that reminds me to go easy on myself: *MY good enough is more than often MORE than good enough.*
Why? Because, as a perfectionist, YOUR ‘good enough’ already far exceeds most people's best effort. So, rather than add pressure to yourself, stress about every little thing, and literally lose sleep over the small stuff, accept that good enough for YOU is not just 'enough', it's MORE than enough.
Shift your perfectionist focus: See the perfection that YOU are. Just You being You is already perfect, even BEFORE you begin the project, plan the over-and-above party, and go all out for your friends.
Affirm: I AM PERFECT, JUST AS I AM.
Affirm: MY good enough is more than often MORE than good enough.

I wrote this poem /article /observation in October 2017 (published November 2017). Various social issues in the world were in the spotlight and coming to a head, and for good reason. Black Lives Matter, , The Women’s March, Standing Rock, were among those, mostly centered in the U.S., along with Every Child Matters in Canada, Brexit in the UK, and various climate actions among other movements reverberating around the globe.
It felt like a time of turmoil and a time of hope. ..It still does.
