🚧 Joint Force Operation – Slow Down in Construction Zones 🚧
As part of Alberta’s Traffic Safety Calendar for June, Foothills Enforcement and Okotoks RCMP conducted a Joint Force Operation on June 10 in the 30 km/h construction zone (workers present) at the Hwy 2A & Hwy 552 E overpass.
In just 2 hours, officers:
• Issued 11 tickets
• Provided multiple roadside warnings for vehicle equipment concerns
• Recorded a highest speed of 71 km/h
Speeding in construction zones puts workers and everyone on the road at serious risk. These reduced speed limits are there for a reason—especially when workers are present.
⚠️ Slow down. Stay alert. Respect the signs.
Let’s all do our part to keep our roads—and the people working on them—safe.

The Blackie Bulk Fill upgrades are now complete!
- Flow rate has increased from 4.5 lps to 9.5 lps
- Converted to a pressure fill system - no more air gap
- Hose connection is now larger - 3-inch
*To hook up to the bulk fill hose you will now need a 3-inch "female" camlock fitting on user hose

Road Closure Notice – June 9, 2026

Public Works will be replacing a culvert on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. As a result, 128 St E will be closed to through traffic north of 402 Ave E.

The road closure will be in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for one day only.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes via 112 St E and Highway 547 or 144 St E and Highway 547.

🚨 Cargo Safety Reminder 🚨
Not everything belongs flying down the road… especially your cargo. 📦💨
Recently, a vehicle was stopped on 96 Street West traveling 30 km/h over the speed limit, with unsecured cargo at risk of falling off the truck.
The driver was issued a $486 fine for transporting goods without properly securing them.
Loose items can quickly become dangerous hazards for other drivers. Take the time to secure your load — it protects you and everyone around you.
