Once you've learned to identify the benefits of your service/product/program...

Drill down further & dig even deeper

Try this exercise:
1) State the benefit
2) Ask yourself WHY it's a benefit
3) Write down the benefit of your benefit
4) Continue asking "why is this a benefit?" until you have a long list of more detailed benefits.

Why bother with this exercise? Because it pays to get as specific as possible on the benefits of your offer.

*The more specific, the better*

We're all tired of the same old benefits like:

>save time
>save money
>lose weight
>sleep better
>have more energy

BORING.

Dig deeper and get more specific.

One of your biggest challenges when writing your own copy is being able to identify what's a feature and what's a benefit.

When it's your own program you're writing about,
it's easy to think of features as benefits. Because to you, everything can be seen as a benefit.

To help yourself be able to distinguish one from the other, ask yourself: "Would someone be experiencing a change? (benefit) OR would someone be given a tool to help them experience the change? (feature)

Get specific, be clear, call out a group of people, draw conclusions.

Marketing yourself by being vague may seem easier in the beginning, but over time you'll start to realize that...

Headlines can be serious, fun, funny, direct & to the point, or a little more imaginative.

Headlines can be 2 words, a full sentence, or 3 half sentences.

A headline can be whatever you want it to be.

Just make sure it clearly defines something and isn't overly generic.

And remember... you can always change it

Instead of writing "ABOUT NAME" at the top of your 'about' page, why not stand out with a statement that is unique to you and the work that you do?

When someone clicks on your 'About' tab, they know they're going to read about you, so don't use up that prime real estate (the headline and sub headline) repeating what they already know.

BE BOLD and catch their attention with something fun. People want to be entertained as well as informed.
