Statement Regarding the Closure of the Nutrien Civic Centre

We want to address misinformation that has been circulating regarding Butternut Valley’s financial contributions for the Nutrien Civic Centre. Butternut Valley’s account is current as of July 9th, 2026, and all amounts owing to the Kings Regional Service Commission under the Regional Cost Sharing Agreement for the Nutrien Civic Centre have been paid in full.

Like many residents throughout the region, Council and staff of Butternut Valley were surprised to learn this morning of the closure of the Nutrien Civic Centre.

We recognize the important role the facility plays in our region and understand the disappointment and concern this news has caused to the many individuals and families who use it.
