Guardians Find the Win Column.
The Hampton Guardians put together a complete effort Monday night, knocking off the Saint John Mariners 6-3 at Memorial Field. Solid defence, timely hitting, and a strong performance on the mound helped the Guardians secure the SNBBL victory.
Hampton came out swinging, putting up four runs in the opening frame. Rookie, Mason Summerville delivered an RBI single while veteran Jamie Reynolds worked a bases-loaded walk, and the Guardians took advantage of opportunities to quickly build a lead. Summerville added another RBI in the second inning as Hampton extended the advantage to 5-0. Second year stud, Micah Seely, was a menace in the base paths, scoring 2 runs for the Guards while proving over and over that his elite outfield defence is second to none in the SNBBL.
Hampton native, Ben Jardine, was laser focused and stellar on the mound, battling through 5⅔ innings while striking out four to earn the win. “The Hoff”, Adam Hebert, came on in relief and calmly closed things out over the final four outs.
At the dish, Summerville led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while Bennett Godfrey also collected a pair of hits. Defensively, the Guardians continued to flash the leather and Godfrey turned a crucial 6-3 double play to close things out in the bottom of the 7th.
Another night, another team effort.
The veterans continue to lead and the young core continues to contribute. The Guards coaching staff feel this dub is just one of many to come.
The Guardians are back in action with a busy home weekend ahead, facing the Dieppe Cardinals on Friday night at Vets Field at 6:30pm, then welcoming the Metro Mudcats for a double dip on Saturday beginning at noon.
See you at the park!

The Hampton Guardians may sit at 1-5 through the opening weeks of the 2026 SNBBL season, but don’t let the record fool you—this team is much closer than the standings suggest.
The Guardians have had no issues with getting a lead in games thus far, but have struggled with finishing things off. While the results haven’t always fallen Hampton’s way, the foundation of a competitive ball club is clearly taking shape. For this young team, the next step is learning how to close out games and finish strong when the pressure is at its highest.
There have been plenty of positives to build on. The Guardians have shown they can produce runs offensively while playing some of the strongest defence in the league. Night after night, the club has demonstrated the ability to compete with anyone on the schedule.
Newcomer Thomas Estabrooks has made an immediate impact, contributing on both sides of the ball and quickly becoming an important part of the club’s success. Meanwhile, second-year players Micah Seely, Kyle Price, and Ben Godfrey continue to show tremendous growth as they settle into larger roles and establish themselves as key contributors.
The team is also excited about the return of rookie, Mason Summerville, who had been sidelined while managing some early-season shoulder tenderness. Although his debut on the mound still needs time, he has been cleared to for game action and will add another valuable piece to a roster that continues to improve with every game.
Perhaps most importantly, the belief inside the clubhouse has never wavered. The veteran presence throughout the lineup has helped keep the group focused, positive, and confident through a challenging start. The coaching staff and players remain united in their belief that this team has what it takes to turn the corner and be playing meaningful baseball when August arrives.
The wins haven’t come as often as we’d like—yet. But this group continues to work, compete, and improve every time they take the field. The Hampton Guardians are building something, and the best is still to come.
Thank you to our fans, families, sponsors, and supporters for standing behind us. We hope to see you at the ballpark as we continue the journey.

The Snell Group Realtors Guardians welcome the Dieppe Cardinals to Vet's field this Thursday, May 28th for a 6:30pm start.
Week 1 is in the books for the Hampton Guardians Baseball Club, and if there’s one thing that’s already clear — this team is going to play FAST, GRITTY, and OFFENCE-FIRST all summer long.
The Guardians opened the SNBBL season with a tough extra-inning walk-off loss to the KV Red Sox in a game that could have gone either way, before bouncing back in dramatic fashion during the home opener with a 10-run mercy rule victory over the Saint John Mariners.
Opening week gave the Guardians an opportunity to get a lot of players involved early, with multiple pitchers seeing action and several guys making their first impact of the season. There’s no question the pitching staff and defensive game will continue to sharpen as the year progresses, but the offensive firepower this group has shown right out of the gate has the clubhouse energized.
Through just two games, the Guardians have exploded for 33 runs — and the bats were led by newcomer Thomas Estabrooks, who absolutely blistered baseballs all week long. Second-year Guardians Gabe Summerville and Nolan Ryan were also red hot at the dish and played a huge role in the team’s offensive outburst.
This team is aggressive. This team attacks. And this team believes the best is still ahead.
